Urgh so close. Discovered a very useful crimp late in the session and altered the beta. Unfortunately by this time, skin reserves were running low and I could not close the deal. Weather was great though! And this is just my kind of problem, slabby, crimpy, good landing.

Cool and committing (with some nice splat potential at the end of the traverse, and at the top of the cliff) though not technically too hard (though a bit thin). My last climb on Grit, and another awesome "classic grit horrorshow" trad climb to finish on. Don't fall, but the climb is worth the risk.

Good wide fun. Red-point because my footer slipped on the lower section and I fell off. Lowered off and climbed clean from the ground to the top. The lower 1/3rd is the crux, but I'm sure the wide-section stumps many a prospective climber. Get on it!

A committing solo. After the crux move is made it's pure friction slab to the top. Though not hard, the tenuousness of such climbing made it exciting. A funkly little pebble-pulling, friction-slabbing novelty.

Would be a classic newbie trad lead over here. A variety of bomber jamming techniques and good gear. All of this was irrelevent since I was soloing, but I'm beginning to think that the Poms need to send a few of their low-grade trad routes over here to the Blueys.

Pretty funky for a warm-up. Two roofy-mantles that go surprisingly easily (albeit awkwardly) to a friction slab and a delicate crack. Very worthwhile.

First E4 and last route of the trip before the rain started. Glad to climb something a little harder and only wish we had more time to push the limits a little further. Sad to be leaving the grit but glad to still have working ankles.

Super easy climbing but blowing any of the moves about half way would not be pleasant. Really nice wall climb with committing moves on good holds.

This would be considered a descent climb at many Aussie crags. Pretty easy but fun moving on rock. The peak would be a great place to learn trad, so many easy trad routes.

Did it during a 10 mile walk, started Grindleford Cafe, walked up past Lawrencefield, Millstone, Higgar Tor (checked out 'The File'), Burbage North, Burbage South, Tegness Quarry (Guido led route, I toproped then down cleaned route. Then walked up to White Edge and back through estate and returned to cafe. Sad to hear that Phil, the owner of the cafe had passed away last week, hope it stays open. He will be missed and was part of UK climbing history.

very cute. The crux is easily well protected with the correct cam, but the run-out upper slab is easy, so it was not as scary as I thought it would be.

Great route. A lot of talk about being pumpy and claustrophobic, but not if you layback and bridge a lot of it. Sad when it ended.
