Ascents in Redwood Coast having Beta

Straightforward stacked boulders with the ocean's cool breeze in the back, far from the world. Seemed like it's not climbed here often. Maybe a bit slippery after the crashing waves of high tide. But too sharp and cool to matter. Thanks Kiki.

2nd Go

very sandy

a little chossy at the top (pulled a hold off). The trail along the base of the wall could use some terracing to control erosion.

Fun. Beautiful. Sketch.

1 hang. One of the best sport routes I've ever had the privilege to climb.

Had to clean it! Just as good the second time.

Finished at the new top anchor.

Too bad we missed the woody while it was there. Really fun route.

Sandy, but just as fun as Humboldt Current.

Super fun. The lattice of pockets had me smiling all the way to the top. The Mermaid felt easier, but maybe I just missed a jug or two.

Wonderful near vertical slab on some of the best quality rock I've seen on the coast. The last few moves would be a bit dodgy on lead, as my partner from England would say.

Fun warm up. A bit runout. This would not be a casual affair for someone climbing at their limit.

Better than it looked, with some nice balancing moves. Climbed in the rain.

Headed up the wide crack with time. Fun fun fun. If the sun hadn't just set, we would have played around on it for another hour. A great spot at sunset.

Incredibly polished rock, but lots of hidden jugs. My lack of wide gear forced me to lead up the left of the two cracks in the middle of the route, which felt at least 5.9. A #5 C4 would have been nice.

I didn't see any opportunities for pro in the middle of the route, so we top-roped it. There appear to be two options above the first crack: Head up and right on face climbing (runout), or traverse right on the grassy ledge until you reach the next crack (pendulum, rope drag). A bit chossy at the crux.
