Ascents in Mount Katahdin

Difficult approach, but well worth it. Be sure to bring 4" pro or the rangers won't let you climb it.

Just about everything you'd expect in an alpine climb but not insanely hard so it's very enjoyable. The views are beautiful. It's worth a try in the winter months as well!

The approach was pretty long and the first few pitches were wet. The descent down Helon Taylor took around three hours. We did the roped climbing in eleven pitches. Lots of fourth class climbing and some harder moves around 5.9 or so. The upper pitches were good, clean fun and easy climbing (probably 5.6).

A great day out in the mountains! An amazing and fun alpine line that tops out into knife edge ridge
