Ascents in Pine Creek Canyon having Beta

Was good,60m doubles don't reach the ledge on the 2nd raps if you try to only do 3 raps. There is an intermediate station that would work.

Guidebook has upgraded route to 5.7

Pitch 3 and 4 have to be as good as 5.8 trad gets, phenomenal line. Absolutely worth the repeat to do the upper pitches

Fell twice at the crux until I found a crimp on the side.

Unreal. Finger cracks, off widthing, a roof! I scoffed at Stephen offering me 6 0.5 cams...and I used every single one of them hot damn!

led p1/2,5/6. skipped last dumb belay, much less sketchy that way, rope drag ok, not runout.

Thought the last pitch was a write off, but the one long pitch (3) was really worthwhile.

Enjoyable climbing on great rock.

Pure quality route. Eva led pitch 1 and 4. I got the rest.

Can be very well protected. Pleasant climbing all in all.

Very cool crack with layback crux

Don’t trust the stars. Bad protection, bad material, no sign of chalk. Bailed at the second bolt.

P1: quite a runout from the bolt but I placed like 4 nuts above. Nuts highly recommended here. P2: very nice one P3: technical difficulty above the first bolt P4: just go up

Linked P1+P2 and P3+P4 with 60m. P3 requires extensions and 3m of simul-climbing.

Does the approach count as an attempt? Started raining as we waited at the start.

L1: 5.8 some steeper moves in a dihedral and scrambling. (Flash follow) L2: 5.10a some pumpy moves at the overhanging flake, afterwards easier, juggy and wonderful. (os) L3: 5.10d the chocolate flake, a corner crack with some hand and finger jams. (Flash follow) L4: 5.10a, relatively ready pitch. Starts steep on good holds. 2m of a chicken wing offwidth to reach some good holds. L5: 5.9-5.10a the additional freestyle pitch. From the end of the climb you can see a cool small hands crack on the left and far away another rappel. Always following the crack finishing on the top right of the rappel. (os)

We skipped the first pitch and done it in 3 pitches.

Hot day but so nice in the canyon. Love the little creek

Not bad, but definitely a come down after tromping around the Creek for a bit.

Runout at the top. Not recommended if new to the grade or to trad.

First Trad Follow. Climbed 3 pitches - Too much traffic to continue the rest of the route

Went to do Rawlplindi, but saw Birdland empty and jumped on it instead. Swung leads the whole way.What a great climb with quality climbing all the way. Did a single rope length rap on a fixed 70 m line all the way from top of p 5 down to p 3. Another party dropped our line and then we did normal raps from there. Saved a lot of time. Great day, great climb.

Cat and I only climbed this to do the chimney variation of the second pitch so we only did two pitches. The chimney is excellent. Cat's first day on Trad! She is a natural!

Route was congested so we felt our party of three was a bit much. Decided to bail.

We only did the first pitch. Had to bail because one of our 3 climbers got sick and could not continue. Will have to finish this on another day.

Cloud cover was a plus, very little wind. First on the wall so traffic was light.

Lead first pitch. Claude lead the second. Chossy.
