Ascents in The 5.8 Crag having Beta

Top rope variant, Central park 5.9+ according to the guidebook

Would have been easier if my hands didn't go numb from the cold.

Didn't have my rack but still wanted to climb this one. Definitely worth it.

Went up a slightly harder variation (straight up after the roof).

Took a fall at the first bolt trying to avoid pulling on a left gaston/crimp to protect my finger. Reclimbed from the bottom.

Just when you want something a bit more positive, there it is. But, doesn't have the same feel as many of the other climbs at this grade at this crag -- less of that sharp schist solid feet.

Yes, trad climbing at a sport crag -- I brought my rack, and 3 people climbed this route using my rack.

I quite enjoyed it, good placements, and good movement.

It took a couple tries to figure the crux, but otherwise went well. I think on a 2nd go I could get it clean.

Thin, tricky, moves on the upper face, but the lower section was dull. Don't come to this crag for this climb, but if you're here with time, sure.

On TR, decided to go direct up the bolt line. More interesting moves than the left side of the arete, more like 5.8 climbed this way.

Went left of the arete for the easy jugs.

Cleaned after a friend of a friend of a friend failed to pull the moves

Micro jugs and small high feet. I love this stuff!

Bolts felt really spread out. Ok climbing, only I was a little tired after the 9 making life harder

Resting while holding on to a 2 finger under cling is hard work. Keept holding on though, completed and felt good for it

Last climb of the long weekend. Tough work especially direct not up the Arête. Glad to have done it though.

A nice climb. The climbing is all there and the crack takes gear like a pro. But I was a bit scared
