Ascents in World by Jackson Allan having boulder-cpr or ascent-date

After 8 sessions in the past 2 months it finally went down today with many of the Melbourne bouldering crew there for psyche and fantastic conditions. First at the grade. Psyched to send this. The eliminated holds at the start make it a touch contrived, but the moves it creates are great. Adding the start to the 9 is deceptive, doesn't seem like much, but really turns this into an anaerobic capacity problem.

ATW - simply finished at end of Straining Rail.

Went down today after a few burns to link into straining rail. Used the SR kneebar. Really enjoyed the movement. Have to have a crack at Life During Wartime now.

Very aesthetic line and probably the coolest feature I have climbed. Double toe hook starts are fun, but I don't rate it classic personally.

Note to self, brush off all moss before trying to climb unpopular slab.

Took a fair bit of work to really nail the heel hooks and toe cams to get this to go.

Felt pretty stiff for a V5. 6 from me.

Finally! Left foot rockover to get up the arete made the finish a lot easier.

Nothing like working a problem while inhaling second hand smoke. Had a couple of goes, will go back when it's quiet.

After a year it's nice to be on real rock again and back in the process. Worked out my inflexible hips beta. Stuck the main move off the stand, took a good fall a few moves after. Will go back. Awesome problem maybe mega classic, but I'm a thirsty man in the desert atm so I'm discounting my opinion for now.

Grovelling top outs are tough

The first part adds some punch. Project for the summer.

I feel this problem is high end V5. Today I pulled on the wrong start holds, and then when was shown the beta the problem went down easily for me on second shot. This was after I struggled and failed to get up the V2 traverse, and failed on the V5 Chug – granted Toohey top-outs are something I am still learning the art of, and those two problems have that style of top-out, where the top out on BMU top out is easier in comparison. I was also second day on, with a mild-pulley strain on my right hand so not at full strength.

Considering it at V6, when I think of the other V6 problems I’ve done, this comes in too soft. It’s more in line with some V5s and some very sandbagged V4s that I’ve done. It felt similar in difficulty to me as Broken Glass V5 nearby, which I flashed yesterday.

Started low on the LH with RH on dish crimp thing, bump to rail, match, hold the swing to RF on some crystal and pounce to the sloper. The described sit start on undercling is confusing. Seems logical line is the sit start down left.

Grovel, grovel.

Cover that rock with a pad. I have a giant bruise on the left cheek because I didn't.
