escalada de primero por Virgil Litan
Very difficult pitch, due to the snow that covered all (the non-existent) footholds. Leader took around 1:20h to complete the pitch, I followed in a rush and completed it in around 20mins. Leader almost fell in the crux move, due to a slopy hold, but luckily had the lower axe in a good one. Me on the other hand, didn't have the lower axe in the hold and consequently fell from the sloper. Maybe I was too rushed/lazy being top-roped. Very sustained pitch, I was very proud of Virgil for it!
Climbing the route in excellent winter conditions. Compact snow, neve and ice in the cracks and gullies, made for really fun, engaging climbing. Clear skies all day long and no wind. Might have set up some belays differently than suggested, but without too much variation. Very nice day out. A rack of friends and nuts was very welcome. 40min approach from the cabin, 5h climbing time and 1:30h return journey (via the Bucura saddle, Custura Bucurei Peak and Berbecilor saddle).

Pulled on one piton since, with another team behind us, I was under the impression we were in a hurry. Was informed that we weren't.

Lovely day out on a sunny, snowed up ridge.

Pitons pulled: 1 on the slab above the belay since I'd land on the other team if I slipped, 2 in the cruxdihedral
Really, really cool climbing otherwise, Slabs and traverses on fine feet up to the dihedral, then a light but very fun cracked slab - alternating between offwidth moves on the left appendages and finesse slab on the right appendages is really interesting

Simulclimbing, rap retreat on the gully to the left.
