Three-hang lead burn. Had to give it one proper try for the season. Logging this as a “tick” just for Ethan (who will definitely read this). Ran out of time to project this properly. Will have to come back in a few years for the proper redpoint. Best rock I’ve ever touched

Holiday grades!

Sent on top rope. Fired the crux but fell off after on lead burns. Bit of a mega project this one.

Onsight through crux, then carried on up to the final hard pitch which we didn't have OW gear for so rapped.

Hard ring locks. Want to send next season.

I think this one would be possible to redpoint if I boulder the last moves. Amazing fingers splitter. One of the best in the creek.

My favourite onsight of the trip. Really cool climbing.

Can confirm this thing is hard. Has less to do with the dexterity of your digits and more to do with recyclability of your rubber. I don't think I can afford to project this one...

Two top ropes in a row clean the other and then failed hard on the redpoint today. Such is life. Must have had half a dozen lead attempts by now. I'll be stoked when I finally get this.

A much better route than it looks as seen from the approach trail. Was surprised to insight 5.11c boulder problem. Maybe I am a closet pebble crusher after all.

Got it second try. Cruxing out mega-like while trying to clip the chains. What a pump-fest!

Sent. Key beta was to skip placing the #1 cam at the crux. Felt locker that way with less pump. 12a/25 for sure.

Got this clean on TR for the first time.

Good size for me. Feels like 11- with my fingers.

This route is real but seems like it would go on a good friction day with fresh rubber and sanded tips. Not sure how you'd place the gear though ha-ha

Sent! First granite 5.12a/25 - confirming my annual goal to redpoint my age in the Ewbank scale. Grades mean nothing right? But they do. They are waypoints in a journey which describe the physical progression of individuals - waypoints without which the "redpoint" is meaningless. Without grades, the achievement of ascent is vague and ill-defined. So here's to grades. 25 points for 25years. This means in approximately 8 years I'll be able to free Vertigo right? Ha. Stoked

Stick clip RP problem? Lame. If that is the way this route goes to me that means it still hasn't been led. Add a bolt. Wouldn't exactly be a travesty anyway since the first footholds are bloody chipped. Nice climbing though. Figured out the moves on TR

This thing is at least as hard as Hotwired - maybe harder. Certainly with worse feet. It could be 24 if you had very small fingers otherwise 25 would seem fairer.

Lead up this cam-to-cam then had a top rope burn. Figured out all the moves. Links and better gear beta next. This thing is sharp and painful. I may even start taping up around here! Needs lower-offs - not sure how other parties have got off this in the past without leaving gear... down-aiding?

Exceptional climbing - probably better quality than the Beckey-Chouinard (not an exaggeration, go do it). Hard crux which in my dehydrated state took me three goes to pull through. However much water you think you need for a 500m route + rappels take an extra litre. Trust me - you will be climbing in the blazing sun the entire day. I took 2L and should really have had 3.5L to be properly safe.

Quality route. And burly too! It's official though. 5.11a is easier than 5.9+ in the valley.
