Managed to touch the grit before the month ended thank god. Stuff was damp and it was snowing but the itch needed to be scratched.

A brilliant little problem, and it wasn’t damp, unlike everything else on Pete’s Tour de Crack Obscurity. Winner!

About as good as a tiny little crack can get. Lovely.

Had a play on the start but was a bit spooked with no spotters and only one small pad. Rad rad rad though!

Had a few lobs. I love the dichotomy of the two halves. Brilliant!

Flashed as down climb, all the way to the ground.

Very pleased with this. First at the grade outside, and a classic, if not terribly hard, at that.

Two goes, one warm up and one general flail. Good route but the fingers were freezing and i have approximately no endurance at the moment.

Brilliant route, did all the moves bar the one crux throw that was off a horrifically wet hold. One to come back for. (x2)

A very rainy day at the crag. Cool climbing up an obvious line but the flakes you are using and also placing gear behind are a little wobbly. Surprisingly committing.

One of the better boulders I’ve done. Tall, technical, committing, an iffy landing; absolutely superb.

Shouldn’t have bothered with the TR faff, would have been better to just try it. Hopefully i’ll manage to steel myself enough to get this done before i leave. Heady! (x3)

Excellent, varied crack climbing with bomber gear. Highly recommended for the grade.

I went up with a double rack of cams and a few wires like an absolute punter, found that none of the cams would go in anywhere, and subsequently ran out of wires with some worrying rapidity. A brilliant, technical, and chronically sandbagged pitch, I loved every minute of it! Made even better by having Ben Moon rock up at the crag and run out of gear on Darius

This was quite an excursion! So sustained, so technical, so consistently steep. Outrageous!! The second pitch is protected almost solely by uninspiring fixed pins that you can back up with wires that range from not okay to actually pretty okay. A total head trip for me, getting used to the climbing style, the gear, the polish, and it’s been a while since I had any real exposure, and the second pitch on this had plenty. So stoked to have been able to sample the limestone trad when I did with climbing not seeming like much of an option for the immediate future.

Another lap to warm up (cold fingers, debacle) and again after trying Mecca (pumped everything, debacle). On my second go I punted off the crux like an idiot and then went to the last bolt where i punted off again. Maybe if I’m stuck in the UK long enough i’ll actually manage to climb this.

It can’t get any better for 12m of climbing surely! I somehow managed to do all the moves except for one at the top because i was fairly spent (but i’m fairly sure it won’t be that bad with a little energy). It probably contains the top 10 hardest moves I’ve ever done and all of them are funky and brilliant. Maybe one day in the distant future I could actually climb this climb?!

Flashed all the moves but was too boxed to clip the chains. 4th go

Brilliant climb! 60m rope wasn't long enough to lower down when doing it as a single pitch but the top out was easy and there's a good tree to set up an ab to get your gear back.

A beautiful exercise in balance

I didn't like this that much, 3 very reachy bits in between an easy ramp. Made a bit of a cairn to get not he route.

Nice jamming, shame it's over so quickly

Way painful. The upper 2/3 was good due to footers, the bottom crack before you move left mashed my poor fingers. Meant to be classic, but too painful for me.

Like a lot of stuff here, the horizontals make for reachy moves

It's not Kachoong by a long shot. Stupid reachy move to enter roof, not the best on a protraxion. I was all geared up to lead, then the heavens opened.

First climb at strange. Not overwhelmed by the place. Rocks nice though.

Rather pumpy for such a short route, we were getting midges out and needed to run away.

I think I went more direct up the wall, the move felt kind of hard

I like my ankles and my life. Damn midges sent me crazy.

Much easier than the arête, and felt far more secure
