grade 19 pitches definitely get harder as you go, great exposed position with entertaining climbing on great holds, with the added benefit of the hardest moves being protected by fixed hangers. definitely worth changing quickdraws to include hms or round stock beeners to mitigate any chance of the carrots falling off the small bolt heads.

Yup still solid 19 best of its grade, lead all pitches taking two people who have only been outdoors once and for their first multi they held up well. I found a potential hazard loose rock above the P3 anchors so be cautious when traversing back over the anchors as the belay is right beneath it, could go soon

Awesome route - beautifully exposed with some nice crush moves. Fell victim to the flash pump and fell on the immediate pumpy boulder problem. The sad 'lower me' was followed by a nice clean send. Proceeded to accidentally climb the entire second pitch without realising I had missed the belay - what fun

With Jack, I led pitches 1/3/5. P1: felt very sore, from too much training this week, biceps were not happy! P2: felt good to laugh at jack being scared, exactly where I was many years ago. He got a bit lost trying to find the belay (it is not the chossy cave, stay on the arete and follow the carrots longer) P3: didn’t remember a thing from last time, was a bit scared traversing but all easy ground for the mild run out P4: easier than I remembered, with some v cool holds after the first set of double rings; a 120cm sling on the right is the right length. P5: slung a tree towards the end for extra protection, run out at the top but very easy. 2 hours 40 mins worth of climbing, unsure of c2c time as waited for a party before we started (they were retreating after their seconder fell on the start)

Yay! Crimp fest! Such a fun line. I struggled on the very first section with the backpack on and ended up hauling it the first meters. It was fine for the rest. I missed a carrot here and there, they can be hard to spot.

Got stuck on a reachy bit for a long time. Managed it in the end with some desperate pulls on slopey and slippery holds up to what felt like gigantic jugs at that point. Second ever multi so nerves making everything harder. 2 18 25m Sport First time leading on carrots. Got pumped working out the technique on the first couple, took a rest then cruised. Such a good pitch with mad exposure on a sick arete! At the anchor, clipped one of the belay carrots and didn’t spot the 2nd one right next to it as was looking around for chains/rings. Spent 10mins stumped. 3 19 25m Second The best pitch on Whymper. Not too hard, especially on second. Traverse into slab then up the main face section. 4 19 35m Sport lead by Phil Koziol Another stunning pitch! Got caught trying to progress direct when should have worked further along a ledge to a better hold. Pumped out faffing for the route and took a rest.
