The night before this climb was 'scent, Scott Melcer had stripped down to his skivies, which looked like Speedos. Being that he was in open view the first thing that came out of my mouth was "Nooo, Old man in speedos!!!" Dave liked this and given as his route that he had scouted climbs a chimney which is reminiscent of a butt crack, he thought it would make a good name...and the rest is history!
