Grade Route Gear style Quality
Sun 28th Apr 2024 - Freycinet National Park
Coastal Cliffs Deepwater Zawn
16 Aspro Pink - with Rach Trad 30m Very Good
Accidentally did this instead of Deep Water. Really fun route though.

Sat 27th Apr 2024 - Freycinet National Park
Coastal Cliffs Second Ramp
15 Firewalker - with Rach, Chris Speer Trad 26m Good
Sun 25th Feb 2024 - Cape Raoul
16 The Wedding Cake Return Pitch - with Rach Trad 35m Very Good
Fun route up through the chimney.

8 Route from Wedding Cake to Cape - with Rach Trad 300m
What a day! Slept under the stars at the lookout the night before. Rapping at 6:15. Route finding all went well. Didn't feel like we were slow, but must have been as we didn't get back to the packs at the top of the rap gully till about 10:15. Trudged back to the car because of forecast rain. Said rain did arrive, so ended up driving back to Hobart as well. Mega day!

Stegasaurus was nowhere near 55m the way we did it. Maybe because we skirted around a couple of pillars to find the "squeeze through to the big spike" bit. Worked well. Chimneys were ok and protectable with slings. Especially if you're tall enough to reach the first spike before comitting to the step across.

Little Jaycar walky talkies were super helpful. No problems with comms all day.

18 Jihad - with Rach Trad 30m Very Good
Really good pitch in a great position. Found it on point for the grade, and good pro. Probably felt a little harder due to backpack etc. Initial split is way bigger than fist sized, but can be protected with small cams on the left face. I used a full double rack on this pitch, but am a wus.

18 Rain Of Terror - with Rach Trad 30m Good
Nice pitch. Straight into it though with some gravelly dolerite face holds.

Sat 17th Feb 2024 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Great Tier
15 Roaring Forties - with Rach Trad 80m Very Good
Great fun! The tree down low could do with a little prune, but the climbing sneaks around it well. Two large movable blocks just before the top out on the second pitch. One is sitting on the last chockstone in the chimney, the other is to the right. Big tall thing you want to bridge off. Be wary. Hard to not use either of them.

Sat 20th Jan 2024 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Central Buttress
15 Linda - with Rach
1 Trad
2 Trad
Trad 90m Average
Climbed some of the first pitch and some of the second to access Improbability Drive.

Sat 6th Jan 2024 - Sentinel Range
Moonlight Buttress Area
12 ~14 Moonlight Buttress - with Jai Trad 310m Classic
Really great adventure. Rock and climbing was better than I expected. Baked in the sun most of the day. Make sure to take plenty of water. Took double rack from black Totem to #1, extra #0.3, single #2 & #3, hex's, nuts and found this to be almost perfect. Plenty of slings. Maybe just the way I did it, but the bit off the first big ledge felt pretty spicy for a 14.

Sun 17th Dec 2023 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Teardrop Gully
18 Ano's Sojourn - with Rach Trad 10m Good
Punchy little climb. Good fun

16 Funemployment - with Rach Trad 14m Average
Bit awkward and off-balance, but good holds appear and keep it ok for the grade.

18 Suzerain - with Rach Trad 32m Classic
Absolute classic! One of the best pure crack pitches around this grade I’ve done on the mountain.

Wed 22nd Nov 2023 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Flange Buttress
16 Hard Pink Car - with Shirley Trad 50m Good
Old school 16. Some thrutching, some foliage (but not too much) and some cool moves. Lead both pitches and exited left into the top of Brown Madonna. Beautiful after work adventure with a cloud inversion sunset below. What a place!

Sun 8th Oct 2023 - Indian Creek Canyon
Along Beef Basin Road Way Rambo
5.10 Blue Sun - with Tom Semple Trad 20m Mega Classic
Bomber hands up a zig-zaggy crack. What’s not to like? So fun.

Sun 8th Oct 2023 - Indian Creek Canyon
Along Beef Basin Road Sparks Wall
5.10- Sparkling Zygote - with Tom Semple Trad 18m Very Good
So fun having the two cracks. Wanted to spit you off most of the way though.

Thu 5th Oct 2023 - Indian Creek Canyon
Along Road 211 The Wall
5.9 Dirty Girl - with Rach, Tom Semple Trad 11m Very Good
Nice varied jambing and bridging.

Thu 5th Oct 2023 - Indian Creek Canyon
Along Road 211 Scarface Wall
5.9 Spam - with Rach, Tom Semple Trad 18m Good
Nice change to have a few face moves.

5.10 Trading Places - with Rach, Tom Semple Trad 24m Good
Had to fight at the transition to stay in the crack.

Wed 4th Oct 2023 - Indian Creek Canyon
Along Road 211 Supercrack Buttress
5.11 ~5.10 Wild Works of Fire - with Rach, Tom Semple Trad Very Good
Little tricky off the ground and coming out of the pod. Nice varied styles throughout.

5.10 Supercrack of the Desert P1 - with Rach, Tom Semple
1 Trad
Trad 30m Very Good
Doesn’t let up.

Tue 3rd Oct 2023 - Indian Creek Canyon
Along Road 211 Supercrack Buttress
5.8 Twin Cracks - with Rach, Tom Semple Trad 12m Very Good
Nice enough. Probably made it a bit more thrutchy than necessary.

Fri 29th Sep 2023 - Squamish
The Chief The Apron North Apron
5.9 St. Bernard - with Tom Semple Trad Good
Started up intending to do St Vitus' Dance, but got lured into the first pitch of this, and then into the rest of it from the ledge as well. Pitch 3 wasn't straight forward. Dirty, flared, discontinuous cracks made things pretty exciting. Finished up St Vitus' Dance from its pitch 4 up.

Fri 15th Sep 2023 - Banff
Mt Rundle Golf Course Wall
5.8 Yonge Street - with Tom Semple Sport 300m Don't Bother
Nice enough day out with some beautiful scenery. Climbing was mostly pretty ordinary and the route seemed to follow the worst terrain it could in some places for the sake of maintaining the grade. Some of the bolting became odd as the route progressed with wierd placements in crap rock or creating cross-loading. Bolts in the low angle middle section were smashed by rockfall but not really needed as you could hike these couple of pitches both up and down.

Sat 26th Aug 2023 - Lake Louise
The Amphitheatre
5.8 Corner Journey - with Tom Semple Trad 50m Very Good
Fun route. Feels long and exposed but doable. Rock reminds me a bit of Arapiles back home. What an amazing setting for a crag.

Sat 15th Jul 2023 - Sand River
BBQ Crag The Balconies
19 Tarzan - with Kyle Sport 9m, 5 Good
Packs a lot into a short little climb. Was pretty pumped at the end of the day and had to use the tree.

Sun 4th Jun 2023 - Sand River
North Ridge
21 Invasion Day - with Rach Sport 12m, 5 Average
Least I climbed something clean all day.

Sat 25th Mar 2023 - The Paradiso
19 Aftershock - with Amps, Martin Brown Sport 13m, 5 Very Good
Great addition.

Sat 21st Jan 2023 - Fortescue Bay
Canoe Bay Crag
17 Easy Rinse, Repeat - with Chris Speer Trad 18m Good
Classic fun crack.

18 Hard Anchovy Arete - with Chris Speer Trad 18m Very Good
Happy to get through this in the end. Moves are all there, but the gear placements are thoughtful. Wasn’t seeing nut placements well and was getting mega pumped while trying to figure them out.

16 Salt Flakes - with Chris Speer Trad 18m Very Good
Very enjoyable route. Steep bridging and an exciting finish.

17 The Bow - with Chris Speer Trad 16m Good
Cool positions. Think I made things harder than necessary around the first bolt. Rock is a bit friable in places.

Sun 18th Dec 2022 - Fortescue Bay
Canoe Bay Crag
16 Pissing in my Kayak - with Rach Trad 18m Average
Some nice bridging, but some suspect rock.

18 Swallowing Tommy's Nuts - with Chris Speer Trad 18m Very Good
Pumping out really quick currently, but held it together. Nice climbing.

15 Smooth Sailing - with Chris Speer Trad 20m Classic
Thu 10th Nov 2022 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Great Tier
15 G Pillar - with Tom Semple Trad 52m Classic
Such a good route. Heaps of gear, airy positions. I lead the first, Tom lead the second.

Sun 6th Nov 2022 - Bare Rock
Main Face
19 Tomorrows Dream - with Tom Semple
1 16 Second lead by Tom Semple
2 17 Sport lead by Cameron Semple
3 19 Sport lead by Cameron Semple
Sport 100m Very Good
First climb with the bro in over 3 years. Nice slabbing on the first, airy positions at the end of the second and totally awesome moves on the third. Great route. I would have used a yellow totem near the start of the third pitch if I had it.

Sat 1st Oct 2022 - Lowdina
17 Morning Sun - with Rach, Shirley, Chris Speer Trad 20m Good
Pleasant route. Top takes some figuring out.

18 Mother Earth - with Rach, Shirley, Chris Speer Trad 17m Good
Wants to spit you out with awkward crack size and steepness. Bomber gear and ok stances give relief.

Sun 31st Jul 2022 - Lowdina
17 Snoober - with Martin Brown Trad 17m Very Good
Great route. Gear tricky to place around the corner from the stance, but got a prety good yellow totem higher than the RP. Still didn't want to fall.

17 18 The Danger Hog Shuffle - with Martin Brown Trad 25m Very Good
Tricky body tension moves up the scoop. Super grippy rock saves the day! Got myself into a bit of a pickle mid crux, but stuck a deadpoint move to get through. Exciting!

Sun 24th Jul 2022 - Lowdina
18 Time Warp Direct - with Jai Trad 12m Very Good
Great movement. Good RP’s. Tested the head!

14 Strawberries - with Jai Trad 25m Good
16 Chocolate - with Jai Trad 25m Classic
Best crack at the grade around I reckon.

Sun 10th Jul 2022 - Kempton Quoin
16 Hoparoo - with Dan Sport 15m, 7 Very Good
Pretty sure the climbing was nice. Mostly good rock. Just couldn’t feel my fingers. So cold!

Sat 28th May 2022 - Sand River
The Panopticon Panopticon Central
16 Sick Day - with Rach Sport 14m, 6 Very Good
Good climb. Some moves are a bit stiff for 16 I felt.

17 Last Orders - with Rach Sport 12m, 5 Don't Bother
19 The Parting Glass - with Rach Sport 15m, 6 Good
A nice sequence at the crux with some interesting moves for SR.

Sun 1st May 2022 - Sand River
The Panopticon Panopticon Central
20 SDTM - with Erika Sport 12m, 5 Very Good
Probably slightly easier than the one to the left.

Fri 29th Apr 2022 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Northern Buttress
20 Reluctance - with Chris Speer Trad 36m Very Good
Enjoyable moves the whole way, but as others commented, the difficulties are really confined to one sequence. Protection with small cam is ok if the flake stays attached.

Wed 27th Apr 2022 - Lowdina
19 Something Scurrilous - with Chris Speer Trad 25m Classic
Awesome climb! Varied, sustained and probably spot on for the grade. That block though! Quite scary and I think should be treated with caution. Almost got my shoe stuck in a jamb.

15 17 Subvert the Dominant Paradigm - with Chris Speer Trad 25m Very Good
Some committing moves for the grade. But great fun.

Sat 23rd Apr 2022 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Great Tier
18 Suicide Sadness - with Jeroen Trad 60m Classic
Awesome climb. Good nut placements in the bottom section. Just hoped those flakes stayed attached. Top half was enjoyable crack climbing. Rapped off natural anchor at the top of the first pitch to do Janzoon.

Sat 26th Mar 2022 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Bulging Buttress
17 Cracked Pepper - with Erika Trad 46m Very Good
Very good! Only let down is the occasional suspect rock/boulder. But I felt you could avoid using them for the most part. Exciting section up to the tree of the first pitch. Second pitch is just awesome. Lead both pitches.

16 Indian Summer - with Erika Trad 49m Average
Did the first pitch via the variant up the front of the ridge. Great it you like climbing stacks of Lego blocks or jenga towers. Would go the corner next time. Second pitch had some nice moves, but also marred by putting gear behind detached blocks to try and avoid a runout off the belay. Lead both pitches.

Sat 26th Feb 2022 - Bruny Island
Cloudy Bay Hidden Zawn The Ramp
19 Grizzling Groove - with Scott Godwin Trad 18m Very Good
Happy with this! Steep climb with lots of mega holds when you need them. Great gear.

If you can push past the first half of the first pitch, the rest is very good.

Wed 30th Dec 2020 - Mount Wellington
The Organ Pipes Step Tier
17 Moonraker variant - with Danielle Trad 77m Good
Ticking this because it's probably closest to what we did. Were intending to do Xenophanes but started on One Way to the Moon. Ended up doing some mashup of those two routes and Moonraker. Ended up back on Xenophanes for the top pitch I think. Fun day out.

Sun 14th Jun 2020 - Sand River

19 Inca Trail - with Sarah Sport 28m, 12 Very Good
Pity about the ledges, but each section of this climb is awesome and provides varied challenges. The top section is especially good.

19 Golden Anniversary - with Sarah Sport 26m, 11 Very Good
Really enjoyable! A mix of crack and juggy, but balancy, moves flow really well.

20 Buried Treasure - with Sarah Sport 15m, 6 Very Good
Similar quality to Golden Anniversary, but definitely a little trickier. Milk the jambs!

22 Golden Thread - with Anthony Sport 16m, 7 Very Good
First onsight at the grade. Ice-creams all round! The most surprised person was me when the crux move stuck. Brilliant end to a beautiful winters day.

Sun 24th May 2020 - North West Bay River
Dog Leg Bend Main Cliff
20 Golden Chihuahua - with Kym Sport 15m, 5 Very Good
Really enjoyable. Felt so good to be back out and working the head and muscles again. Extra points for keeping the rope and feet mostly dry.

17 Paw Jamming - with Kym Trad 7m Classic
Classic of the short crack genre. Great for jambing practice.

Tue 21st Jan 2020 - Sebastapol Bluffs

Fun. Solid rock. Fu’s first outdoors lead on the first and second.

Mon 20th Jan 2020 - Sebastapol Bluffs
Unwin Crag Right sector
15 Secret squirrel arete - with Fu Sport 54m, 10 Average
Lead both. Some nice movement on the face then a arete to finish. Better than it looks from Unwin. Not too much crap rock left. Lots of spinning hangers and at least one loose nut.

Sun 1st Sep 2019 - Sand River

Sat 3rd Aug 2019 - Launceston (Cataract) Gorge
