Classic in the genre! Burly, reachy, steep crack climbing on generally good rock. Definitely needs to be added to the Bluies quality cracks circuit. I found it very intimidating at times but rarely actually hard. Would round out an absolutely mega trad day at Engineers doing this, Static, and CTW. Took the advice of rapping in on a fixed line and rope soloing to get out. Harry and I both thought the pitch lengths were fairly generous.

A brilliant and very worthy mini tradventure. I fell off straight away at the start of pitch one, came down from the first piece of gear, ditched most of the rack because it weighed so much, and fired it off. Such a classic and quite feisty pitch, felt quite 23 honestly. Second pitch was a fun ramble, I broke off an enormous footer though and went for an unexpected and exciting one arm dangle. Pitch three is also great; a novel roof crack to start and pleasant layback to finish. Doubles (or triples!!) to 0.5 and singles above that seemed like a good rack. Wires were helpful too. Barely need any quickdraws, maybe four regular ones and two extenders for the roof on pitch three. You can also take one bolt bracket for the belay at the end of pitch two, but it probably isn't necessary. The bush bash off the top also wasn't too bad, definitely faster than trying to rap and walk out normally.

Wild 3D climbing pretty much the whole way with a fairly shite first pitch, an absurd and out there second, and delightful and easy third. Would maybe recommend having a bit of a squiz at Lulu as you rap over it on the way down to suss some of the holds, lest you punt it like I did Maybe some of Jared's photos will finally serve as the marketing campaign this route deserves. An attempt at the big link up but for a variety of reasons we moved too slowly and bailed after two routes. Hotel is a pretty fun adventure but something like Yak Banquet is a way more classic offering at the grade in my opinion. We were overtaken by Adam and Cillian which was pretty awesome, they are absolute crushers. We linked most pitches into at least one other pitch for some semblance of efficiency. I reckon the traverse pitch is the money and the first pitch really isn't that bad at 22, you just get a healthy dose of flash pump.

Fear with Neil.
Fantastic trad multi with no bolts until the end of pitch four and only a few after that. Pitch one was way less offensive than it looked from the ground with pretty good rock and gear. Pitch two was a wild adventure up a weird, vegetated ramp feature but also with pretty good rock and gear. Had one fairly solid move at the grade. Pitch three was fairly terrifying, especially getting established on the wall with no real gear for 5m or so. After that it's a really interesting corner. I ran out of gear at the top and ended up building a weird belay after climbing too high and having to retreat because the stance I'd hoped to belay from had very limited gear options. I'm not sure where this pitch is actually supposed to finish so I guess its a bit of choose your own adventure. Pitch four has some cool tricky moves up the continuation of the corner that eats wires and then the traverse is fairly straight forward but on pretty rad frictionless rock. The bolts here appear to be pretty good too. You can belay a fair way left and up around the arete off of a single carrot and some gear. The final pitch was definitely the highlight and featured some memorable sequences above memorable runouts with memorably shit gear. The pitons that protect the hardest moves really don't inspire confidence. It is a super fun shallow, fused corner though with a handful of technical and powerful moves that are really great. After you leave that corner and step left it gets nice and juggy for the top out. All up a great day out with plenty of shade and a surprisingly small amount of crying. |

Would be a classic at so many other crags but it's just not quite as mega as it's neighbours. Wild and improbable climbing up a super rad feature with a little bit of everything to keep it interesting. A great route!

Borderline classic! A nails onsight that certainly had me working. Ultra cool face climb at the grade. Has a hilarious number of bolts though?

Way better than expected, it climbs so well! Probably a bit of a softy but with the new rings it should be on everyone's list!

Glorious grade 16 trad corner into rad stemming, laybacking and a punchy upper bit. An awesome climb. Worth bringing the three or four hand sized cams down to do it for sure!

Good enough and certainly a long pitch but probably not worth the unexpectedly long walk to get there. Rock quality is suspect the whole way. Some of the upper tier routes look properly rad though!!

Awesome to sneak out for a super early morning multi; we were home by 10. Hilariously arctic conditions though, it's not often that i climb in a thermal, flanny, polar fleece and down jacket! Really great route that follows a nice line on good rock and that third pitch is still awesome and still nails, possibly the best bit of easy bolted climbing in the mountains! Love your work Neil.

Really rad thin crack but definitely quite easy for the grade. It only really has one move on it and in typical trad fashion i tried to rest in the middle of this singular move and thus got a bit bogged down and stressed. I then remembered that I know how to rock climb however and all was right with the world as I cruised to the top. A fair bit of thin gear on this one but there are opportunities to place bigger stuff too. Enjoy it for sure!!

An excellent afternoon and evening out! Started pretty late after much faffing and me getting too psyched looking at Orange Jam/This is Your Brain on Crack which saw us amusingly getting caught in the dark. The first pitch was great but felt super hard as a warm up and i certainly had to fight hard for it and then the second pitch was even better and I'm pretty jealous it was Jason's lead. We did however almost accidentally quest up Upstaged, with Jason literally racked up at the belay ready to go, in an event that would have been my best ever sandbag. After dispatching the correct pitch though, we climbed Fat Yak to the top as it was starting to get dark and it seemed easier, if less inspiring. These three pitches were fairly unremarkable but linking the last two as a mega 50m+ pitch was memorable, especially doing some thin grey slab pulling in the dark. Good stuff!!

Onsighted this as a mega pitch from the ground as the warm up thinking I was climbing This Sporting Life. Consistently varied and interesting moves to the point of being substantially better than TSL I think, especially in its #megapitch form. With the infinite bolts it has, this route is an awesome consumer classic but could do with and deserves some more traffic to clean it up as the top was slightly dirty.

An absolutely unbelievable pitch. So much fun in such a wild location. Basically soloed up the first pitch (one piece of gear in case I fell and pulled Harry off) and then belayed Harry on the money in crazy wind. I was a bit nervous sitting at the base of such a classic route and watching Harry fly up it but as soon as my turn came and I pulled on it was so mind-blowingly good that I just felt like I was pulling grade 16 up there. The arête is an ever present jug that just doesn't want you to fall off and all the other flakes and foot holds are so perfectly positioned as to propel you up the wall. An unreal experience cruising easy moves up a pillar of that size. Get on it!!
