Ascents as Onsight or Top rope onsight by Neale Brain

A bit of a sandbag. The name is misleading - I chose this for my friend's first ever rock climb having never climbed it myself: a good initiation to old-school "easy" JT routes! We descended in semi-darkness via the chimney near Bussonier.

Didn't take a big cam so had to run it out a bit on P2 but fun, secure climbing and a nice sunset.

Led this and belayed both my kids (10 & 7) up to the spacious ledge. Short and easy but fun.

Team onsight - swung leads with Geoff. The traverse is the highlight: exposed and well protected.

Awesome climb with a great view at the top. Very relaxed to lead.

Combined first two pitches - great photos from the cave at the second anchor. Didn't do third pitch (didn't know there was one).

Very short - only did it to set a toprope for the kids.

I led the first pitch (crux). Geoff led the second.

Team onsight. I led pitches 1 & 2 (to the cave) and Geoff led the crux 3rd pitch (the newer guide book shows the 'old' 3rd pitch as two pitches).

I led pitch 1, Geoff led the spectacular pitch 2. The position on the step-across move is awesome! An absolute classic for the grade.

Team onsight. I led pitches 1 & 3 and Geoff led pitch 2. Great exposure on P2 and a pretty intimidating lead out of the cave below the roof!

Great climb with lots of variety in its 4 pitches. We swung leads with my partner Geoff doing pitches 1 & 3 and me doing pitches 2 & 4.

Awesome scenery. Can't wait to get back and do the East Face.

Awesome - believe the hype!

No cams required except for the belay - this climb is a great practice for slotting nuts!

Short but fun.

Only did first of two pitches to set up a toprope.

Felt easier than The Trough which is a 5.5 (the guide book I was using said this climb was a 5.5)

Only my second lead, the first being a 5.3, but it felt OK at the grade.
