Ascents of Cardigan Street Pitch 2

Accessed from the top and top-roped before redpointing. After a hard start it is nicely continuous in terms of difficulty with no easy sections but also nothing desperate.

Always a special experience to knock out a hard Taipan classic. This is something special for sure - pretty nails first move then ultra-sustained, unique scoop climbing to the top of the wall. They don’t get much better. Definitely 29 in my book, probably even at the upper end of the grade.

Quite the footwork and technique testpiece. I struggled! Will cruised it . After falling off the first move once or twice, I had a really good go on the first burn falling at the last hard move (and putting a hole in my finger in the process). Was a struggle on the second go too! Awesome!

Very hard classy unit.

Two goes on top tope - did all the moves a couple of times each, but geez, linking this will be tricky - it's on, all the way to the final horizontal. Felt harder than Eye of the Tiger for me and Marty thought harder than Serpentine so 28 might be a tad solid (unless we were both missing half a dozen holds). Also a tad scary in places and in need or a re-bolt.

A proper taipan-esque route with hard moves, grooves and plenty of air
