Ascents as Clean by peta barrett

Pretty new when we did it so dusty and dirty and holds breaking off. It’ll clean up nice though. Took 3 shots but probably because of dirt… and lack of sleep.

Top rope at the end of the day to clean it. It felt much harder!!

One last lap before the rain.

Damn. Ah well. Kinda thought my body was done for this trip so tr a couple of laps. First lap clean. Second lap one rest.

One of those climbs where we were sad that we’d probably never get on it again… yet relieved that we’d got it first go as it was mentally exhausting on lead. Didn’t have enough mental gas in the tank to tick another climb so thought we’d run a lap on tr for fun. It’s still just as hard!! 😂😂😂

fingers were feeling a bit tweaky and the rain had left the rock a bit seepy... but by the time i dropped the rope on it, it wasnt too bad! 2 clean TRs. Was considering a lead but then Alcatraz got taken and its really too close. i didnt want to wait around so hence the second lap on TR

Second shot back to back clean as everyone else was busy so I took my window. My style of climbing. Rain getting heavier....

As the warm up went so well, thought I'd see how I was on something a bit harder. Floated up the thing! No pump, not even puffing. How much weight did I lose??? Didn't lead. I was pretty sick and didn't want to over tax the heart but this is a good sign. Stopping now though...

After a week in bed with a tummy bug and barely able to stand yesterday, a tentative TR revealed that yes! My strength to weight is now fricken amazing. Levitated!

TR to clean. Bit easier second time around. Still had to drag my arse through the bird poo again though....

Well, that’s a bit disappointing.. tweaked my finger joint again. High humidity isn’t helping my joints but my trip might be just delegated to tr. pity, as I got it clean. Hopefully if the high humidity goes and my joints settle, maybe I can salvage something?

Back is definitely feeling better but still taking it easy. Well.... top roping anyway. Really want to see if I can move tomorrow...

Yellow belly... cruised it. Just couldn’t face slipping and getting rope burn between my legs.... bit like the guy did after me.

Last shot of day so training lap. Just held the crux and then a bit wobbly to the next draw then good on the jugs. Such a great route! Lowered down and did extra lap of crux. Fell off the jugs at the top haha

Access pitch. With backpack. Crumby lichen gully.

First shot to get the draws on. 2 hours helping rescue someone out of the canyon (clip every draw people!!). By then it was in the sun on a 39 degree day so TR to clean it. Unfortunately (or fortunately) got it clean. I'll come back.

Thought this was amazing. Had heard it was chossy and dangerous but has obviously cleaned up a lot. Really good... and long!!!

Must admit I thought this was a lost cause and really only top roped it to get my draws off the anchor... damn. But typical... once the crux is worked out it’s about 5 grades easier!

2nd day with no painkillers. Still not sure if my back can take a fall so did laps instead. Pretty sure this’d go now for sure. X3.5

First go on this and I figured I’m way out of my league on this until I started to palm down. Got it clean second shot but no idea how I would clip any bolts... I am unfit though.... it might not be an Indication of the climb..

Amazing climb. Pretty gusty winds today though made it super intimidating. Got blown off at the top on one of the shots.

Ryan didn't sell me on this one but I think I'm still glad I TR'd it. Found a sneaky finger lock that made the last cruxy move quite pleasant. First day back at kp I always struggle mentally with the (lack of) friction. But then...winter is coming...

in this weather, the last hold is too small. kept sweating off the crimp...as i rained sweat upon my belayer...no, thats not rain...sorry... attempted laps..hahahaha. got 3 attempts..

I don’t remember the second bolt being so far away......

First climb in 6 weeks... first outdoor climb since Croatia.. 2 months ago. Not too bad. Expected to have lost finger strength and get pumped.. but no. All good. Turns out that lifting heavy boxes for a job is good cross training...

5.5 laps in 3 lots. Endurance isn’t too bad considering...
