Great adventure. Took us around 6.5 hours from Sleepy bay to Mt Amos car park. I wore my beaten up trail runners and they were fine (except the sharp granite slabs definitely chewed the tread up over the day). The section between Mt Bourdon and Mt Dove was the most challenging with route finding, and we seemed to be off-route for what felt like a concerning hour, until we somehow came good. Hitchhiked back to the car time for a swim and beer by the beach.

Super tricky route finding around Mt Baudin and plenty of sketchy slabbing but otherwise a great day. 6.5hrs Sleepy Bay to Wineglass, didn't need climbing gear but approach shoes help.

Had lots of fun doing this route with my girlfriend. We didn't end up climbing Mt Amos, but we did the 3 before it. Forgot to take a map. Could have been useful, navigation was tricky. No climbing if you choose the right path. We did two 15m abseils into the ravines before Mt Dove. There was already some tat in each spot around boulders. A good day out if you're looking for a challenging bush walk with hard route finding, a bit of exposure, cool landforms and great views.

Wow! Bush bashing was just as hard as the few sections of grade 8 climbing. Started raining as we got the final peak after route finding our way suspiciously through the traverse. Cairns disappeared for us for an hour or so in the middle. I wore trail runners with friction x soles and they really struggled. Needs approach shoes but nothing more I wouldn’t reckon.

Amazing rest day fun (though not overly restful...)
Check out the description on Thesarvo for more detail, some incredible views that are very well-earnt by some difficult scrambling and route-finding in, around and through (yep) boulders.
Incredible friction from the rock, some great chimney moments and lots of slabbing. Make it as easy or difficult as you want, but definitely harder than 3. Bring stacks of water, it's hot up there and all of the tarns and dry riverbeds we found look like they rarely last. 7hr30min from Sleepy Bay carpark to Mt Amos carpark. Could easily blow out to a much longer day if you make a few navigation errors. |

Awesome day out. Can make it as difficult or as easy as you want. Huge views, interesting terrain, and the sharpest, grippiest rock I've ever felt. A few moments where the slab turns into real climbing with some big exposure and 2 or 3 chimneys to squeeze down. No ropes needed but would be handy in an emergency.

A very very nice traverse, some nice easy slab climbing and a few chimney down climbs. Highly recommended for anyone who is happy soloing up to about a grade 10. Obviously the difficulty depends on which way you go. Took me about 6 hours

A long way, we did it to half way up Dove for Arocknaphobia. Some interesting sections including standing on Dave's shoulders at one point. Is that counted as aid? Would be classic with light packs, 5 tennies and cooler weather.
