Amazed I Onsighted this, so slippery today

Hard. Forgot helmet, didn’t feel like leading these spaced bolted climbs.

Yay, finally got the start after trying for a while. Quite spicy on the skin. And in bad conditions too. Now for the lead goes

Exciting to send this on top rope on my second try! It felt like the grade comes from only a few harder moves, rather than being sustained over more (slightly easier??) moves in Bondage and Discipline (which I definitely like better still!). Using a desperate hand jam saved the send as I was too pumped to use my original beta!! Definitely a good reminder that jams can be trusted and are actually pretty cool!! I’m keen to try lead this sometime although I might try get the beta dialled first!

Yay I’m so happy I sent this before the end of the year!!!! I wasn’t sure if it was an overly ambitious goal but it’s exciting to have proved to myself it wasn’t! I remember feeling like it almost wasn’t worth hopping on the climb when I first tried it exactly two months ago, but I did and could get all the moves and it turned out it only took 3 sessions (maybe 5 tries??) to send!? Which was quite surprising and confidence boosting, it’s so nice to be spending less of rope climbing sessions feeling unconfident and untrusting of my feet! Trying more routes is definitely helping me improve my beta remembering a little too; some very serious diagram drawing yesterday meant that I just had to work out a few feet today (thank you Slabby for reminding me that hold existed!!). I actually quite liked the big, reachy moves, and the transition from the almost campus/pull-up start moves to some smaller holds further up makes it feel like a nicely varied climb! and the shouldery gaston move is cooool. I’m so psyched to try some more Fruey climbs and to try leading this one!

happy! just gave it a crack with no expectations and made it clean! flowed really nicely through the tricky sections in the top crux! Skipped the low start, started from the top of the stairs.
