Setup a top rope to run laps on the lower layback section - tough on the forearms, but good fun.

First 22!! Took over an hour and had a slip or two, but oh my God, what a fun climb and exhausting send. The crack was wet in the middle! Wet jams sucked but I wasn't about to give up. Thanks to Dave for the belay, Tristan for helping me work it, and Paul for getting me on this route in the first place. Loved the moves from the layback at the start to the off-width at the end.

Brilliant climb, had a slip down low in the finger section (need to work on body positioning), middle is just FUN and thoroughly enjoyed the ow finish, there's a great no hands rest if you look.

Well, I wasn't expecting that. Packs a punch from the start and just keeps on giving. Through the thin finger locks, to the hand jams, to the off width, to the megga off width. Got my helmet stuck in here. Would try it again when I forget how memorable that was!

Super close to Onsight. Hot conditions made holds the too slippery and had to take about 5m up. Send the rest from here onwards but not without a full workout. Loved the experience.

I broke my back climbing this. I have fallen off it twice, and the first time my gear held fine. Second time out, I had a C4 .3 and a .4 rip on me. I stood up fine, but it was a pretty lucky fall. I landed pretty much flat on my back, and on a flat section of rock. I've fractured my L1 vertebrae. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't landed quite so well I'd have ended up a lot worse off than I am now. Fair warning to you all. Cams rip on this route. Since I've had my fall, a bunch of people have told me that I'm not the first to get hurt here or rip gear. The cams look bomber. Nice parallel crack. It seems like it might be a bit hard/slippery but I haven't been back up to check it out yet. Maybe nuts are a better bet if you decide to get on it, but again I don't know if there are good nut placements. Anyway I just wanted to put this out there as there doesn't seem to be any info on this page about this climb ripping gear. I'm happy to answer questions about it if anyone wants to know more.

Wasn't so bad. Laybacked through the direct start until you hit where the grade 20 version comes into the main crack. Placing gear wouldn't be too hard from the layback, either, I reckon.

Well, I've been on Erg 2 years ago, does that mean i can still claim the onsight for Erg direct? Maybe not. Glad to get this one. The direct start is technical and Jam orientated and suits my style. The rest of Erg is quite tough and varied, with the wide sections being particularly tricky. A great climb!

Did this a few years ago and it's mega. The best and hardest line I had done at frog at the time. The sliding fist jams near the top are to die for.

With Janette. This time I approached and did the climb 'in the zone' which cast a magic spell over the whole experience window (and enabled me to send the line easily). Janette seconded while the evening's charcoal clouds were lit, and we rapped off in the dusk. What an amazing feeling.25 April with Phil. Well, after all those gos, what I can say is that I have the start well and truly wired... 24 April with Pete - this time I had a vile hissy fit when I got stuck (again) on the offwidth. 23 April with Janette - I was not happy with not getting the offwidth
