Ascents in Mt Tinbeerwah

nice lead. a little sustained in parts

Strong contender for the best crag I've never heard of. They say slabbing is a dying art, but it's alive and well at Tinbeerwah! The crag packs in long sustained routes, stunning views, and somehow an adventure wilderness feel despite the 3 minute walk-in. My only complaint would be the ankle-breaking height of the first bolts, which are often carrots placed 8 to 10 m off the deck above the shaded, grubbiest sections of rock. This route was a bit of an accident - we failed to read the description for Avatar and set off up it's lower section expecting a 13... It's possible to head out right after the 5th bolt to join the 15. I guess this was once a trad or mixed trad route, and the lower section is definitely harder than 13.

Not sure what the original route was but what I did seemed to flow well. Slightly easier start than MAMD, however, sustained moves till the 5th bolt. From there I moved right as couldn't spot the next carrot and ended up climbing the last bit of MAMD. The start is surely atleast 15 with some lovely technical climbing. Finding the carrots is not my forte and the spacing between them didn't help the case. Still heaps of fun as the rock and the setting are really cool.

By myself with ascender. Yikes! Some sweet exposure, but a great lay-back crack! I'll be back with gear.

Bit scarey. God knows what is keeping this slab in place, so I was SS about falling on my gear & dislodging the whole thing onto Dave who was on the hangin belay below it. Other than that it's a nice trad line - one of 2 at the crag I think.

With preplaced first piece to avoid factor 2 on hanging belay. Sensational pro all the way. Massive exposure and varied climbing. A truly awesome line!

Finally rock up with my #4 cam, get up there to find a slot that will take a #2 cam - thanks Chester! So I ran it out about 12m, missing the last 2 bolts. Ahhh, nothing like myopia. Debbie 2nd'd.

Great exposure for a 15. Nice flow when you don't have to place gear. More people should do this with a top belay just for the position.

Horrible. Dirty and a lot of loose stuff.

Some of our team were above doing this climb. Tried it as a warm up not realizing its grade. I free solo'd this bad boy 3 times during the day as its probably easier then the track and cuts out some meters.

began this climb not knowing what grade or what climb it was, slipped about 3 times on the first pitch near the awkward roof second pitch was awesome! my first clean 20 good way to start the day

Climbed this with the expectation of it being Antipreneurialism. Cool tough climbing up slanty rock, toes and calves got tired!

Led second and 4th pitch. We thought this was Antipreneurialism so continued along the ledge and topped out. Matt did a mega unprotected traverse pitch along the ledge, then we finish up direct from Anti's 3rd pitch anchor which was fun! Thanks for the great day out Kyle and Matt!
