Ascents of Exploding V

First lesson in serious hand jams. Radical moves. Jug train to finish probably stops this climb from getting three stars.

Seemed quite difficult on the first shot. Went on the next shot after some problem solving. V. satisfying. Nice climbing through the V, not much after.

Sick dyno

didn't read the beta comments below and couldn't figure out it by myself. I kinda guessed you can jam that corner but would be hard without gloves or tape. next time.

Tough. Couldn't figure out the right beta. Ended up right hand on a crimp and doing a big dynamic move to left hand jug which felt bloody hard. Might try the funky feet moves that other ppl are commenting about next time.

Had to use the gloves for crack climbing on my second attempt. Hands got completely destroyed from first attempt.

started to get some promising beta but it took it out of me

Debated how to log this but it didn't make sense to keep repeating the easy first moves just to sit on the ledge before going through the V, so i started there. Beta: Right hand jam, feet first to toe hook on the jug and then match both hands with the toe. Set the knee bar and head upwards to glory. Key to getting there was keeping the feet high on the RHS of the V and avoiding trying to heel/toe hook on the Teflon face below. Wildly improbable moves and taping a very good idea, possibly a stiff move at 23 but that shouldn't put you off, well worth doing.

I'm amazed I could hold that inverted hand jam of thee flared V. Surprisingly good jam! Pretty steep for the grade... And it wasn't a full red point, as I didn't do the first two moves from the ground, but they hardly count right?

One to come back for. Didn't figure the move to the jug tried to dyno but didn't commit enough, i assume some toe hook beta may be the ticket.

Well that was a bit demoralizing...

Night ascent. Not bad climbing, but the (literally) 1 crux move is 3 grades harder than anything else on this, and is just unpleasant. The rest of it is an enjoyable 20/21, with some funky moves up the V-grove (and some entertaining upside down knee-bars). Not sure how the crux move goes at 23, especially for anyone shorter than JengA.

A fun roof boulder on good rock. A bit of a short rope on the crux swing helped I am sure.. No idea how short people can do this climb??

A good little McDougal, a worthy addition to the crag.
