Climbed exactly as I thought it would looking from the ground. Dirty, awkward chimney climbing, with a few brief desperate thrutches past the bulges, followed by more straight forward bridge/face climbing to the chains.
Pro was definitely there, but took some meandering to find, leading to an absolute mess of rope drag. Bring your longest slings. |

I really don't know how to feel about this. There was and great climbing mixed with terrible protection and skin ripping chimneys.
I think I recommend it, strongly recommend not wearing shorts.

I did the bottom section with left arm facing out, it's possible that it might be easier going right arm facing out. It is very runout but it feels secure enough so it's okay I think I placed about 8 pieces for the whole climb. It deserves at least 3 stars.

Holy crap. Was wanting a nice easy chimney, this isn't it. Runout start, I think at the point I was back and footing the leaning wall 5m above a #1 RP I was very fully awake at last. The middle section is a much easier tour through some cool territory, and the novelty squeeze exit was quite unexpected (move your gear off the harness, Stephen ran out of swear words). Long and really enjoyable, but take RPs, hexes, and ball nuts would probably help tame the start if you have them.

Gear beta: If you thrutch up the chimney crux near the start, a number 5 or 6 cam (or both!) make it a pretty reasonable climb in terms of protection. Without, you'd be looking at a substantial runout through some hairy climbing.
