First multipitch at Araps, and it was awesome! I led all pitches. Mary did well on the spooky step across the void. The big corner was stunning, and the optional final corner was surprisingly burly, I found it harder than the 4th pitch!

Simul. P2 I climbed slightly left of the line until stepping across the chasm (linked P3) and then went straight up corner then right on a slightly higher line to the orange buttress. The underclings on the bottom of the orange buttress looked super fun (grade 18?) but I ended up going down a couple of metres then traversed the thin slab with some delicate feet. Belayed at the rings. Linked the pitches up the corner and direct finish corner. Jess led the last “beaut” corner add-on finish then we both soloed up one more level (because we couldn’t count the corners in the guide).

That alternate corner finish makes for a super mega pitch. Beautiful, cruisy climbing. Bonus pitch at the top is also worth the time.

The direct finish is amazing! The traverse to go around the roof that leads to the laybacky moves is sweet af! Loved it! Much more satisfying that "Siren" thanks to the alternate ending!

The only way to properly climb the route! Link pitch four of Siren into this for a blissful 40m or so of wonderful easy corner crack. Just superb. The final little corner on the upper ledge isn't half bad either.
