Rapped in [ Approx 33°35'09.8"S 150°19'24.3"E ], first pull high-ish friction, others fine. Approach marked as 'hat hill canyon exit track' on track in OSM. Lead 1,3. Arvo cragging to avoid the local road traffic. Minor traffic on route, pleasant climbing with a bit of a crimpy crux. Got lucky with light breeze and mixed cloud cover. Three star location/perspective.

This is a really enjoyable little route. More solid rock like the Araplactic end of crag and good holds and just enough placements for a few handish sized cams between the bolts. Nice belay ledge at top of route to bring second up and enjoy the view together

Up there on my fav routes in the Mts 6.5hrs on ropes, 10hrs car to car, at a relaxed pace Glad of a head torch even though we used the stars to get home

To be honest every pitch after this starts in a similar way, so its good practice 3 Sport Yeah good pitch! 4 Sport This climb was so cool! I almost got the onsight too! Nailed the whole climb but stepped on the rope and slipped . Still super stoked to have done all the tough moves first go though. 5 Second Yeah cool pitch. 6 Second Super easy climbing on kind of sketchy runout with great exposure. Might not the easiest or friendliest way to get out of Heathcliff as per guide book. 2 10 40 Second Red mossy rock, some flakes can break, watch out for runoouts and don't miss bolts. Re familiarised myself with the moves after about a year from my first session, got to the crimps and had to work out a sequence that worked for me but didn't feel 100%, and involved a deep committing heel toe cam. Got it second shot without too many difficulties but still very worried about falling on the crimps.

Repeat with Robin and Caitlyn but a total Alzheimers onsight, including going the wrong way on P1; future reference, just stay on the right side. P2 was easier than I remembered with no off-widthing required. P3 start was still hard as shit and I didn’t remember the chimney being that tight but I still had an absolute blast of a time. So good!! Definitely sections of “do not fall” on P1 and P3.
