Ascents in Blackheath Area by Ben Jenga

Good to put to bed a three visit 5. Punted the first, scrapped through on the second. Cool route.

Laps, cold start.

Old project, still no dice. But on the upper note, much better than I remember and I can do the move now. 3 shots, should have gone on the second but my hand popped as I landed the catch. Will be back.

Warm up and warm down. Lovely route with plenty of options

Hoped to put this away today but not to be. Double draw at the crux but still couldn’t clip, pumped out. Put a triple and then forgot the sequence. Maybe again one day. Lower right toe than left up!

Just two moves really, hard but brief.

Almost pumped off the traverse and had to really hold on to the top. Not the best endurance at the moment.

Great route, couple tricky spots and lots of good jugs.

Should see more repeats, great fun. Had to dig deep on the “easy” head wall.

Warm down, got pumped.

I feel this is the harder of the two but same awesome rock. The slopes down low are sick.

Cool new route on some of the best rock at the brae. The crux is hard but short so give it a lash.

Good for a repeat, sandbagged myself on the first lap. Not to bad on the second, hard but brief.

Don’t the warm down I was looking for but great regardless. Almost got rained off the top.

High pointed to the same last bolt as last time but couldn’t even do the move today.

Did this mss flash many years ago, goos to see the grade is correct these days.

Struggled on this so bad today.

Cool 25, I really enjoyed it. Got lucky at the crux with plenty of fun jugs above.

Beta flash placing. Started with second bolt clipped, and first logical holds. Granted this reduces the grade but very contrived forcing the clip as part of the sequence after the Batman start. Fun route, short but sweet

3 taster laps. Fun route but not fully feeling it today. Wind didn’t help.

Retro Onsight, good straightforward crimping.

And and down this to finish on the original. Should be move popular, juggy steep fun.

Took an few mins to do the start move

Didn’t think much of it on the first lap but enjoyed it much more on the second. Came up short after the heel rock. I will come back for it.

Fun repeat even if I had to do it twice. Has cleaned up nicely.

Such fun and a little easier then I remember.

That slab more was the hardest move all day. Didn’t bother with the horrible last move.

Great route after the mantle. Touch and go at the top.

Always more pumped at the top then you think.

Pretty fun little route, felt stiff to me.

Must have been pre thecrag that I ticked this last. Pretty sustained and polished section from the 4th bolt on, a great rest and tricky top move. Second shot on the last of my toe endurance.

Great to finally climb this, seems there has been a bolt shuffle. No run out anymore. Great fun and easier then spa-cal.

Great long pumper with two tricky spots. Keen for a rematch in the future. The two rusty dyna bolts and a bit worrying (one is a dogging bolt) as are the run outs but I am not in the best climbing head game at the moment. 2 laps
