Ascents in Celebrity Crags

2nding Neil on the First Ascent (though I had the auspicious honour of doing the first ascent of P2 - My proudest FA to date!). An enjoyable easy grade short multi, with quite a fair bit of good climbing, marred by sections of bad rock. Inevitably destined to be popular. P1 in particular is worthwhile.

Got the first pitch than had to retreat due to rain really interesting climbing. Still alot of loose rock remember your helmet.

Kind of missing second bolt on belay station after ledge traverse...

An interesting diversion if you’re in the mood for that one summer morning. Definitely some choss to spice things up.

Routes okay ..... sustained at the grade. Not the best multi pitch I’ve ever done but not the worst either (3 x Drill holes to make a hold on pitch 4 and a few glued up holds .....) Worth bringing more than 2 alpines for the first pitch especially for the high bolt before the traverse and then again after the traverse to reduce rope drag or use double ropes. Helmets a must as there is still a number of loose rocks/blocks that haven’t been knocked off with traffic yet. I would also take care that there are no bush walkers on the track below when belaying on the top of pitch one and doing the grovel traverse on pitch 2.

First pitch only. Cool territory, average rock. If you like Porter's Pass sport slabs, you'll appreciate the the first pitch.

Good route to do if you’re feeling like a trad route but forgot your rack. A sandbag at 20. First pitch is a 21. Fourth pitch is also a 21 if only for the spiciness of the rock. Worthwhile adventure. As people have said, it’s a good rule only to move when there are no walkers on the trail below.

Awesome climb on sweet rock up until the p4 chossfest. Got everything that we signed up for.

Needs a lot of traffic and brushing, but the moves are cool and the position is great! I was scared the whole way!

fell just after the roof on a miserably wet day. cool trad style sport climbing!

Fun route in a cool spot. Felt a bit scary in spots but we didn't break any holds so all good.

Post work session got to my original high point then flashed the rest of the route including the crux. cool traddy style! lil bit snappy but climbs well!

A few okay moves up the corner-feature, and an interesting final few moves. Not too hard at the grade. Lots of doddle, though, and the start is a bit "meh".

Absolutely awful. a waste of steel. If the anchor wasn't a tenuous clip on lichen, it might make a zero star route. It'll never get the traffic to keep it clean though, even with the star.

would have been a reasonable 18 if it had just stopped 2-3 bolts earlier

A fun three dimensional climb. Remember to use a long draw under the small roof to avoid rope drag.

Slow climbing with a few thought provoking sequences. Worthwhile, but not a great warmup.
