Ascents of Bare Essentials

Should have gone on first red point, but when going for the side pull after feet fuckery my shoe peeled off my ankle and dragged me back off the side pull. Tried again from there and went the rest of the way to the top with no sits, so confident it won’t take much to put away

First lap I skipped the start and was trying to sort clipping beta in the scoop but struggled so came down.

Second lap I skipped the start again and kind of sorted beta for the scoop then put the rest of the draws up.

Third lap, fell on the starting move, went too far!

Lowered to immediately try again, didn’t feel confident but hung on for dear life and managed to get the send!!! Didn’t even use the clipping beta I came up with! Super stoked!!

First go to work out a bit more micro beta, second go to finish the crux, not rest and punt. Third go to clean draws. Next time?

Nice way to finish the day

All the moves went down quick, feels very "on" for a while. Maybe next session

Just got way too cooked at the start and had low energy for the other attempts

Too cold on the warm up after a very rainy day. Got up 2nd attempt. Alot easier than Trix

Ok actually had a good time on this today!! Managed all the moves and clips, but just out of power on my red point lap, one hold from the thank god jug.

Can stick the big starting move consistently now I think?? Scoop clip still feels awkward.

Managed two laps to the top and a handful just working the start through to the scoop.

Second draw was clipped. A good climb. The bottom part wasn't as hard as I'd always assumed it was. I was in agony getting myself to the top though

One hang, suuuper cool

Cool boulder then it backs right off with pleasant climbing to the anchors. Had a play on this 23 years ago with Heath Black. Today with better beta it went 2nd shot.

Great fun! Felt a bit harder than trix, but may have been the 34 degree day. Keen to get back on this.

Stoked to get this one done today !! a couple RP attempts over 4 sessions.

3x laps, hurt my wrist on the 3rd move, once taped up I could still do the sequence but hurt way to much to actually have a redpoint. Pretty much every sequence is classic. Keen to get back on it. A little reachy at the start.

High point again, coming out of the scoop. One sit total. Getting the jump very consistently

1st time on it, had 4 burns today. Best go with 1 sit. Linked from the scoop to the top!

Personally I enjoyed it more than Trix. Great climb!!!
