Ascents of Trumpeter

As one pitch with an 80M and several rebelays.

Dogged the fuck out of the first pitch but did the rest relatively clean, however had to go in hard to undo rebelay knots

Felt like Tom cruise at the start of mission impossible 2 but probably looked more like strodel from top rope tough guys

Way too scared to do the dyno on tr solo, need to watch some hownot2 videos so I know the microtraxes won’t explode or slip off the rope

I have no fitness, but I still had fun

Lovely lovely wall route, though maybe more 23 than 24. The first pitch is fun and cryptic and was a proper chalkless onsight, second pitch is pretty cool but felt nails at 18, I linked pitch one into this. I found pitch three kinda ugly but it was an inoffensive way to exit. Great to do some climbing with Haz again. Can thoroughly recommend this part of the world as a respite from the westerlies and lovely climbing on lovely rock.

Repeat. P1 clean 2nd, P2 clean 2nd. P3 clean. Awesome P1 and very good P2.

Amazing rock quality for 3/4 of P1. Technical reachy face climbing separated by good rests.

ALMOST a classic. Sustained technical face climbing on the best rock the Blueys has to offer. Endure the tough mantle start and you WILL be rewarded. My only beta for the flash was "don't climb it how Monty climbed it", and it worked! Not a true tick, as I had a "Gentleman's Sit" at a no-hands kneebar to avoid pinching the FA.
