Ascents in Deepwater Zawn

Accidentally did this instead of Deep Water. Really fun route though.

Mad exposure. But heinous rope drag. I think I went too deep into the corner before emerging.

Best climb on the coast

Absolute classic! Where else do you find a route over a zawn that looks so intimidating with waves crashing beneath you on a windy day but when the time comes all the holds you need are right there with good pro around.

My first DWS, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Did the easy variation which involves walking up the ramp that is just below the top out.

beautiful climbing above the jellyfish. The pink wall section is quite poorly protected so you're free soloing for about 5m. The traverse out to the right and the final exit corner were great.

Has an easy variant which is true to the grade but with bad fall potential, and a harder variant that is extremely exposed but should be safe to fall from. Got locked in by a heel hook and had to go for it, cutting loose on the next move was scary and fun

Super fun! The grade is accurate if you do a second hand traverse out right after the first set of jugs. When above ledges a fall could be catastrophic.

Had a go on this but couldn't bring myself to do the crux. Was very commiting and seemed much harder than 15. Rob tried the moves and found himself unable to back track so topped out, said it felt about 18. Seemed like a clean fall from the crux but definitely not the corner

Pretty epic, the lowest traverse variation is on a very juggy rail but is above a submerged rock and avoids the arete move (topo). Crux sequence around the arete is incredible but possibly slightly harder than a 15 (photo)

Incredible, atmospheric climb. Nearly went up the corner and off the route, but found my way back. Lovely moves.

wow what a crazy climb! the most glorious jugs in an outrageous and exposed position right over the zawn! wild! seconded the first bit on a previous trip, but was an onsight of the spectacular top half!!

Insanely good, the positions alone.. woawh. Must lead. Watched the swell rolling back and forth, and a seal go by while belaying.

Amazing climb! Maybe goes a little easier than 17. Would do again.

Amazing exposure

Would be 3 stars but the rock was a little friable and a couple of ledges on it. Still a beautiful route and very fun to do with higher swell

Much easier than it looked from above, but the gear was fiddly and the exposure was awesome

amazing climb. loses a star for a hold breaking, me punching myself in the face, and taking a gross whip on a marginal red.

Holy God DAM this is epic, scary af and the waves tickled my balls as i did a nervous pee but such a rad climb
