Ascents in Deckout Buttress as Red point or First free ascent

Great revenge after a few years. Similar to my first attempt, my feet were still painful afterwards

Multiple attempts on the initial boulder. The feet are so slippery, ended up going slightly left with a weird feet sequence

Stoked to get this clean. Had to fight big time.

Mountains was a bit misty/foggy/rainy but evans delivered again with beautiful dry granite slabbing for the day. Nice warmup

Nice edge slabbing. Few sharp crimpy holds but rather trust the feet. If you enjoyed this definitely get on Six Days on the Toad around the corner.

Far easier in the sticky Mad Rocks.

Definitely easier than the two on the right because of the more definite edges

After faffing around with gear and moves off the belay, made it up after pulling on for real. Had me puffing, glad to have the leather crack gloves. Good example of thuggy widish crack style.

Funny how seeing someone make less effort leading nearly twice the grade puts things in perspective.

Every crux here is getting up to the first bolt. Freaking runout after you pray the flake won't snap.

Best climb of the day. Sequencey start.

Did it once on lead, felt good to try a solo with the guys, felt solid

Good to clean up this dog. The section where I fell last time felt quite easy. The moves out left to gain the rooflet are really tricky, but satisfying. Sustained for such a short little number.

Pretty awesome as a free solo, due to it being reasonably sustained. Going direct through the bulge at the top (not bailing to either side of it) requires some committment without a rope. Felt good.

Not too bad as a free solo, felt solid all the way.

Repeat. Warm-up free-solo. Definately the best route for introducing friends to friction-slabbing.
