20 Cock Crack Trad 38m Very Good
Wow, what a line. Pity I'm so *%$@ up at the moment, couldn't pull thru those crux moves. Nice gear all the way, just as well I had the #5 & 6 cams with for Pete to use.

Sat 5th Sep 2009 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
12 Witches Cauldron Pitch 1 Trad 12m Very Good
Tried to get Matt's gear out but failed, it's well & truly wedged in there.

Wed 2nd Sep 2009 - Frog Buttress
East of the access track
14 Electric Lead Trad 26m Very Good
Meinen Gotten!! My bane, my nemises & I got up it clean & without further damaging the left hand. Just have to approach that crux hold differently. Dave belayed. (The rock fall is super scarey.)

After Craig.

15 Rest Area Ahead Trad 10m Average
After Craig. Made a mess of the crux move.

12 Witches Cauldron Pitch 1 Trad 12m Very Good
After Craig.

18 Gladiator Trad 20m Classic
After Craig. Fell my way up it. Should do this more often to get that jamming technique down.

Tue 8th Apr 2008 - Frog Buttress

14 Electric Lead Trad 26m Very Good
Damien did most of the work placing gear, but even then I couldn't do it clean. Sprained the left hand again - badly. Ron belayed & 2nded.

10 Sunday Afternoon Walk Trad 12m Very Good
Ron's first lead in 33 years or so, well done & a good lead job!

10 Sunday Afternoon Walk Trad 12m Very Good
Did a run up it for Ron's sake. He did well.

Sun 11th Nov 2007 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
17 Micron Trad 20m Very Good
This one is always a pleasure & worth 3* in my books.

18 Elastic RURP Trad 20m Very Good
With Bill & Ross. Fell my way up it - pathetic. It's much more positive than I remember it.

Sat 15th Jul 2006 - Frog Buttress

18 Gladiator Trad 20m Classic
After Andy, man he made light work of this. A thrutch epic for me.

18 Gladiator Trad 20m Classic
After Andy. He made light work of it. A thrutch of epic proportions for me.

14 Shit Heap Trad 10m Good
2nd rest. Trying out the multiple ascents thingy on thecrag.com - don't want to loose the original OSF. Terry lead it this time. I was so trashed I couldn't even get up it clean.

15 Let it Bleed Trad 25m Don't Bother
Pretty manky. Terry was in a masochistic mood. Still, it's tons better than the stuff I've been doing at Maroon recently.

12 First Layback Trad 12m Good
Your basic Frog nightmare. God help any grade 12 leader trying to get up this one - it's more like a 15. Terry lead it in fine style whilst I struggled just to get on the slabby start.

Tue 11th Apr 2006 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
15 Rest Area Ahead Trad 10m Average
2nded Andy up this one. Bit of a juicy move half way up.

19 Humility Trad 15m Good
Andy TRd this one after we did Rest Area. I tried for the 21 start, but couldn't cut the cheese. Nice moves on it.

17 18 Chocolate Watch Band Trad 17m Very Good
Wanted to have a go at my first Frog 17. It was all going well up to the overhanging offwidth. Andy patiently belayed & 2nded.

Wed 13th Jul 2005 - Frog Buttress
East of the access track
14 Electric Lead Trad 26m Very Good
Forgot my gear sling on the ledge & did Wizard's Back again whilst up there.

16 Materialistic Prostitution Trad 20m Very Good
yet another scaredy pants attempt. 8.6.05 Same set-up again, (Andy's very patient), still couldn't do it clean. One day tho! 6.4.05 Had Andy lead this up to the traverse, I then lead it on his gear. Came back later & did the same again, Andy leading it. gonna get that jaming technique eventually! The best part was getting to place my new #11 nut on the top out of EL. Mar 2001 I tried this one as one the first leads at Frog on Andy's recommendation, but gave it up pretty soon. Damien tried it as well, eventually we lead Electric Mud, then TRd MP.

17 Wizards Back Trad 10m Very Good
Still had to grovel my way up this exposed but great climb 8.6.05 OSF Did this with Andy. What a great climb, definitely worth the 2*. The factor 2 into space is pretty heady, then I pumped out getting in 4 pieces of gear in about 2m of crack, so I down climbed back to the ledge, rested, then blasted the sucker! The gear's bomber all the way & what exposure! I'm pretty stoked about it too. I've been rather depressed that so many new climbers overtake me, but then, witnessing the recent accident at Frog, I'm very content to have 1) My health 2) Never had a serious climbing injury & 3) These last 5 16s have been fabulous consolidation, rather than chasing grades.

13 Electric Mud Trad 10m Good
Daniel wanted to lead it, but had to back off so I finished it up. 4.02 OSF Damien belayed. Some nice moves and good gear make for an enjoyable climb.

Wed 1st Jun 2005 - Frog Buttress
East of the access track
11 Parsons Pleasure Trad 10m Very Good
2nd'd Dan up this one, it's quite good, the gear's bomber all the way, so are the holds, definitely worth 2* in my book. March 2003 - (OSF) A nice lead for the beginner.

Wed 1st Jun 2005 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
24 Down With His Pants Mixed trad 20m, 3 Good
A very tough & serious lead. Doesn't earn a "very good" rating as you can do serious damage taking a fall while clipping the 3rd bolt, hitting the ledge below. I really had to strain to get the moves on this one. The top part, the crack is just a fab. ending with great gear.

Sun 22nd May 2005 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
15 Pixel Princess (Pixelated Princess) Trad 15m Very Good
Very nice lead indeed, & the gear is good all the way & chains at the top, what more can one ask for? Dan 2nd'd 19.10.03 I attempted to onsite this rather nice line put up by Pete, with Jeanette belaying, but couldn't manage it in my weakened condition. Jeanette couldn't believe it, & then lead it. But one day I'll go back and Red Point it.

17 16 Micron Trad 20m Very Good
What a great climb this is. The gear's good all the way, the moves & holds are all there. Dan belayed & 2nded.

15 Bad Company Trad 20m Good
Had to have another go at this climb, but couldn't get my head around the crux move & had to rest on some gear, stupid me, I should have pushed thru, there was a very good rest just above. Sept 2002 2nd Susy up this one back then when she was just starting to fall in love with Frog. Found the crux rather daunting - bit thin on gear & haven't been back since to Red Point it.

Wed 18th May 2005 - Frog Buttress

14 Electronic Flag Trad 40m Very Good
Tried to exorcise my demons on this one, get it clean, but failed again at the crux section & had to dog it. Got a great placement for the Big Bro just below the overhang. Feb. 2002 This is a terrific line & Troy belayed me & caught my fall on the crux. Fortunately I only banged my left knee. Then Susy & Greg showed up in the afternoon just as we were finishing & Susy 3rd us up it.

14 Orchid Alley Trad 20m Very Good
Had to lead the LHF again to exorcise my demons from that first time. the crux move was still pretty go-ey, but I managed the gear tons better. Dan belayed. Jan 2002 My first lead at Frog - cheese what a nighmare that was. I struggled & grunted my way up this one & was absolutely terrified. Damien belayed til it was dark & Dave helped me set-up a belay fast in the encroaching darkness. I'll never forget this first intro to Frog leading, as long as I live.

16 17 Blood, Sweat and Tears Trad 40m Average
Tried it again with Dan belaying. Still had to aid the crux. 10/4/2005 What a bloody epic - 5hrs - went home in disgust after this one. I later figured I must have been about 1:20min at the crux trying to get my head around it before backing off it. Dave must have been 30min or so on the crux, & even on 2nd it took me 4-5 goes to get the crux sequence.

Wed 6th Apr 2005 - Frog Buttress
East of the access track
14 Shit Heap Trad 10m Good
Tried to lead this again, using the crack only this time & was utterly defeated. Andy went up in his boots making it look like a walk in the park, place some gear, then I grunted up the crack. Daniel belayed. The best part of this climb was getting to place my new Big Bro #4 near the top. July 2001 A classic intro to Frog hand jamming. Damien belayed.

16 Winston Alley Trad 10m Very Good
Didn't think I could make this one after bombing out on Shit Heap, but the moves on this just slotted into my style very nicely. Andy belayed & 2nd'd - Daniel 3rd'd.

Sun 25th Apr 2004 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
12 Witches Cauldron Pitch 2 (Witches Cauldron) Trad 18m
I had 2nd Damien up this one back in 2002 when I failed specatacularly to nail P2 - a horird nasty chimney thingy. Dave belayed me up this one & we then went to Falki which Dave lead in nice style.

14 Faki Trad 13m Good
Not a bad line. I lead (Red Pointed) Wiches to get to this ledge & the unnamed 5m climb & Dave lead this one, but in my weakened condition I couldn't make it without a rest tho.

Sun 19th Oct 2003 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
20 Thor Trad 30m Very Good
I 3rd Susy & Ben up this one, on which I did my best to imitate a beached whale. The Glandular Fever was setting in at this point in my career - not good.

Sun 14th Sep 2003 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
20 Piranha Trad 45m Very Good
2nd Susy up this, what I thought was a 19. A very nice lead at the grade. Susy lead it in style & set up a belay at the ledge turning it into a 2P climb.

Sat 23rd Aug 2003 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
16 Satans Smokestack Trad 40m Good
The start has some interesting moves. Damien & I had a go at it back in 2002 & he backed off the first bit. Geoff took me up this time and I certainly couldn't handle that chimney without a rest. No plans to go back & lead it either!!! (thank you very much.)

Sun 10th Aug 2003 - Frog Buttress

17 Micron Trad 20m Very Good
2nd Russ up this one, a very nice lead too. Certainly one can cheat by using the pillar.

Fri 1st Aug 2003 - Frog Buttress

I love this climb - one of my absolute favorites at Frog. I originally 2nd Damien up it. Dave belayed me on my first red point.

2nd Susy on this one. An OK line.

Tue 25th Mar 2003 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
15 Bad Blues Trad 22m Good
Lead this one with Damien on belay. The crux was a bit scarey.

15 Illusion Trad 23m Good
2nd Damien up this a nice line. The chimney up the top was the most awkward part tho & on a re-visit I found I couldn't even manage it!

Sun 23rd Mar 2003 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
15 Devil's Wart Trad 27m Classic
An absolute classic. I think I lead this one with with Damien - not sure. It was one of my best onsites ever!

Sat 1st Mar 2003 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
19 Infinity Trad 40m Very Good
Certainly a classic example of a Frog crack. What a line. For God's sake don't tell anyone I TRd this classic line or I'll be ostracised forever by the community! This was with the EFC gang at Frog one Sunday.

Tue 1st Oct 2002 - Frog Buttress
East of the access track
20 Egotistical Pinapple Trad 14m Very Good
I did get 2/3 the way up this one on lead before I ran out of steam and ended up TRing it. Susy belayed and I lost her wedding ring - yeah gods, what a day!

18 Resurrection Corner Trad 25m Good
This is such a tough & sustained climb, it really should have a grade or two added. 2nd Patrick up this one and had several rests to get up it.

Sun 1st Sep 2002 - Frog Buttress
West of the access track
18 Elastic RURP Trad 20m Good
I 2nd Susy up this tough line. She was rather patient on belay & afer several falls I got there in the end.

Nuttin special in this one.

16 Fat Mattress Trad 30m Average

Mon 1st Jul 2002 - Frog Buttress

15 Mechanical Prune Trad 18m Very Good
A varied climb with some interesting moves on it. The rotating chock stone scared the shit out of me & Susy caught my fall, nice belaying Suze!

Sat 1st Jun 2002 - Frog Buttress
East of the access track
14 Theory Trad 25m Very Good
Undoubtedly one of the best lines at Frog and one of my favorites. I think Horney belayed my first red point on it.

9 Three Nuns Trad 20m Good
Solo'd this one to set-up a TR on Egotistical Pinapple.

Fri 8th Mar 2002 - Frog Buttress
