Ascents in Kaputar having Beta

Gorgeous views with a mostly chill route, until a couple of metres in the final third. Awesome to be able to see the mountains from such a unique perspective and climb the dinosaur. Completed this unroped as a solo party as Mum wasn’t too keen on it. About 4hrs car to car with an already sore leg. So happy to say that I’ve completed this route.

Cleaning for Michael Moore, cool route, a few crimpy moves in the second half had me gripped, but was pretty happy to pull through this one!

Pretty sure I’ve done this route a couple times before, just never logged it! Good fun, still getting used to being on the spicy end of the rope again.

Watch the loose rocks at the anchor ledge if lowering/toproping!

Again cleaning for Michael Moore, some really cool moves/positions on this thing! Happy to do all the moves, but definitely not fit enough to go clean yet

A couple more goes, feeling a lot better on the lower section and sorted the finish but still missing a solution to the crux as Daves bridge solution leaves me too low.

Hopefully the predicted rain will settle the dust. Really great and varied moves and steeper than it looks. One go on TR to brush the holds then sent with a bit of power grunting and wobbling before we had to leave.

Still baffled by a 2 m section. Getting some linkage. I think we need to work on presses.

Rpt. Quite a tricky one

finally back on this after a long time, not through want of trying. Quite greasy conditions today. Dave making much better progress

Rpt, didn’t have wires with us. Fun route.

Rpt. I keep thinking a clean up of this route is needed. Nice traddish climbing on bolts, a couple of finger size cams can also be used.

Rpt, needed a bit of a brush. Left hand crack glove/ tape useful for me. Unfortunately I had brought 2 right hand gloves ( duh!)

Rpt. The moves on this route are great, if only it remained a bit cleaner. Rock improves a lot after 8 m. Calf pump! The vegetation up high doesn’t interfere with route.

First trad and first multipitch all in one. Very easy and very enjoyable.

Wow... talk about a heady climb, this one will keep your resume honest on the onsight! Absolutely stella climbing 👌... will have to come back for the full tick as we found lower off slings at the top of the first pitch, decided to taste test other things.

Warm up to the area, lead in one pitch ground to the top,the rope drag was a little heavy on this route

Led this in one pitch, really fun stemming most of the way, a small section swimming of amazing hand jams.

Seconded luke up this in one pitch, really fun movement.

Pro was a bit sparse

Nice climbing. Rock quality was a bit suspect in places but plenty of sufficient pro if you search for it.

Great adventure! Truly like climbing along a stegosaurus’ spine!! Exciting position, mostly straight forward scrambling with a few thought-provoking sections. The best climbing is in the second half of the full traverse - it is worth going along the whole length. There is some exposure but we felt comfortable throughout unroped and in approach shoes.

Half of the traverse, including an ascent of the SW corner (16?) to retrieve a stuck rap rope.

This is a three star climb for sure, especially P1. Flowy and exposed. Loved it.

Fun!

Bit dirty, bit vegetated but the average rating goes to the description of "through the overhanging chimney" – more like "up and around the overhanging offwidth". Being a chimney aficionado the only reason i choose the climb was for the chimney but it was far too tight even for my slim stature. Bit disappointing.

Three starred mega classic scrambling, incredible location, stunning vistas, some exciting moves at the grade with some high winds thrown in- sooooo gooood!

Sick scramble getting chased from the rain and high winds, met some goats on the bush bash back, some scary sections but happy to have mountain guide Yim showing the way
