Very rad and super stoked to get an onsight! A shame about the rock quality at the start but some cool moves in a wild position. The 3rd pitch is extremely out there and well worth doing.

I believe this line traverses underneath the huge roof with a couple bolts and is graded 22? Super rad!! The Trinity Wall of Moonarie. Wild positions with inverted knee bars and dicey moves, what a corker!

An absolute classic crack by any standards. The crack looks harder than it actually climbs. Quite straight forward climbing. The gear is bomber. A must do in your SA crack tick list!

Psyched. True onsight with no chalk on the route and a veneer of dust over everything. Onsighting this was my goal of the trip, and has been for years since I first learned of moonarie and this routes rep. I was even sandbagged by two old locals telling me not to take my bolt plates right as I was about to set off... nice work guys, you got me good. I brought a rack-and-a-half, which led to some monster runouts above dubious gear, but with more small cams it didnt need to be. Not a physically hard route, but a technically challenging mental headgame with some real ropecraft necessary. Improbable and strange, with beautiful moves on the arete, and easier gritstone climbing higher up.

Bloody hell is this run out. After the last horizontal, there is techy slab/face for about 8m till a thin seam that will accept some average small RPs. Then a tricky sequence for the next 5m until a good rail. Would definitely not want to blow it, a 20m fall could be on the table. Cruxy at the bolt and mossy at the top, but a splendid climb all up. This is why Moonarie gets raved about.

What a journey. Onsighting this was a goal for a long time, extremely sustained, engaging and committing climbing on excellent rock in an outrageous position. Was happy not to take the potential 20m? plunge down the slab. Absolutely brilliant.

Truly onsighting this was a highlight, tricky precise crux then lots and lots of techy climbing questing up the wall. Decent gear all the way up. A voyage.

Do you know what the term 'nemesis' means? Climbed as a giant 40m pitch from the ground with disgusting ropedrag despite running it out on P1 and enormous slings trying to alleviate it. P1 has to be a monster sandbag cranking through roofs on gear. P2 is super old school, gnarly dihedrals, thrutching, Y-groove climbing and a touch of off width. Awesome! But ill admit that I wimpered a bit as I thrutched away.

Very good. Pitch 3 is scrappy but the other pitches are excellent. Interesting old-school crux pitch involving nifty fingerlocks and some thrutching on poor feet.

I lead the 3rd and 4th pitch. First and second where pretty messy and chossy. 3rd and 4th had interesting climbing and 5-6th were my favourite. Only a couple hard moves for the 5th pitch.

Almost a classic, marred only by a reasonable amount of loose rock constituting key holds. Interesting, looooooong, non-cruxy arete climbing, with a few particularly standout moments. The finale in particular is very entertaining.

Great adventure climbing through the chimneys and roofs. Crux pitch is really just a tall person boulder problem. Awesome lead by Claire on the last classy corner pitch.

Engaging and a little tenuous. First 2 pitches only then finished off traversing on Buzzard Arete's 3rd pitch so that we could access the absolute crag classic Hairy Guru

Awesome, flowing grade 18 weaving back and forth around the arete until the final crux. Marred only by some suspect rock in places and some dicking around at the anchor if you don’t want to haul up double ropes through that top crux

Very long route with some great moves, although still some dubious rock. You will need some trad gear to clean the route if you only have a 70m rope.

This was sublime. It felt a bit spicy as I was in a hurry not to finish in the dark. Hugh had to finish it in the dark though, sorry mate A couple of runouts to keep you on your toes and a fantastic long technical arete. Absolutely loved it!

Last pitch is a pretty dreamy crack, with crux being thin hands. Quite a bit of lichen and choss to get there. Pitch 2 we did the 19 variant which was fun and engaging. Entire climb is well protected but definitely exercise caution after the big belay ledge as you head right and up.

Excellent classic first pitch. Involves some chimmneying followed by a bouldery section over the roof well hard for 19, probably 20. Hard to read. Succumbs to a super neat jamming sequence. One memorable moment on pitch 3 breaching the roof on jams and kneebars. Unfortunately the rest of the route is choss. Covered with lichen and moss and loose rock.
