Ascents in Mount Wellington as Roped Solo

Really bloody hard. Didn’t work the crux out, felt absolutely desperate. Inspiring line!

First time down there, worked the moves for ages. Think I’ll have a sequence.. fingers can’t fit in the crack after the hanging dagger jug which makes it interesting. Can I still try to onsight for Holiday in Cambodia?? 😅

fun day out. as others have said. a few medium cams handy to access the last pitch. Climbed as a 3, seconding on a fixed line. We all led the last pitch.

One sit at the bolt, another with 1m to go. Not as savage as I anticipated, would be different leading it though.

Good fun, although a little dirty

Hilarious, if dirty. Learned a new trick, stacking an arm bar and a jamb. Recommend a clean, but it's a nice line and a solid 19. Few sits at the old gear, but it's where you'd put the anchor anyway

Found P1 harder than P2.. or maybe I was wrong to start to the right of the bush?

Found the directisimo line avoiding easy climbing and also figured the crux moves. Happy and surprised to get it third go today, after a lot of working on the crux on the first two goes.

P2 only, this time clean!

I don’t think I’ve ever worked that hard to finish a climb! Sat in the rope countless times to find a sequence to get through the bottom pitch crux, then the second pitch also had me working hard at a few places. Definitely worth the effort tho, mega line!

TRS, p1 around 3rd bolt felt a little desperate.. Sat in rope several times to figure it out.. And still didn't really get that move clean! The rest of p1 was doable and super sick climbing.. Didn't take any rest at anchors and straight in to p2 which was all clean onsight. P2 is excellent! In comparison to "after midnight" it felt like 3rd bolt had a bit of a show stopper move for me (maybe just didn't read it well) therefore not quite as good and harder too. All in all and excellent technical arete route!

First time back since last summer got it third go then a few more times. Yay keen for the lead, still a bit nervous about placing first bit of gear after the bolts

Had a small foot slip on some easy ground, nails for the grade

Found easier beta and had to redo the route cause my rope was stuck at the bottom.

Managed to get the whole thing clean from ground to top on top rope solo, wonder how many more laps till I'm keen to lead it. Just as good as I remember it
