was confused by the roof, and screwed myself by attempting it on the R, which felt really really hard. i now see this is the hard way. tried direct through the roof a few times too, but couldn't work it out either. seems powerful, might come back more clued in to the beta.

Wow, I've never tried so hard in my life. so thrutchy and desperate, I almost fell out a million times. Direct through the steep crack, so pumpy with some incredibly awkward moves in the pod. really proud, had to fight so so hard.

I liked it. One committing move which adds some fun. I ended up humping the arete shortly after said committing move, which I thought was quite entertaining.

I think 19 is about right. Or old school 18. Pretty good, a couple of hollow sounding flakes near the bottom but it’s pretty straightforward climbing there. Never felt unhappy with any of the gear.

Spectacular! Really awesome climbing. Lovely flowy stemming and palming in the first, and nice jamming in the second. Gear in p1 was small in places but great! Got quite drenched by rain. Belayed below a pretty Waratah in bloom.

I thought Peregrine ( 23) was easier than this, onsighted everything except the crux which was hard, especially with less reach. Got quite spooked above the crux, great exposure.

We went direct via some great bouldery moves. I couldn’t reach the way Dave did to a good hold way right, but managed to figure out a tough way whereby I thought my heel would snap if I fell, so did it on TR clean after two lead goes and aiding through crux on first go. Going direct seemed more 24 at my height. The flake to the right of the third bolt rocks and although keyed in at the moment may loosen or come out if someone yarded on it. We actually liked it, includes staying on face past 3 Rd bolt. Dave also did the arete finish.

Certainly not a bad climb if you like botany. Ample protection all around with more cracks and holes than you can poke a stick at. Crux at thin crack before chockstone but is easily protected. I think starting slightly further right than the described start would avoid a lot of the vegetation and provide a straighter line. Possibly some tape left behind near big chockstone.

First pitch was technical and rewarding down low. Requires small pieces to protect well. Abundant gear after first moves. Second pitch had some great jamming and quality climbing with abundant protection. Good to double up on micros and your 1s / 2s. Half ropes were fantastic for the climb.

Fun climbing. A little weird up the bolted section but not too bad. Then really fun rock afterwards with lots of variety. Really good protection for most of the way up. Didn't feel like an 18 after the bolts, almost forgot to place gear it was such a breeze.
