Node
North West Faces/ Dinosaur Wall

A beautiful face of continuous rock facing North West.

14 Dans Manky Mistress

Death! Start about 50m right of Prehistoric Beetle Junk. Follow the line of least resistance to ledges, where you'll find a a tree and chockstone belay.

21 Prehistoric Beetle Junk
  1. 25m (21) Starts high on the ledge L of arete. Stick clip 1st FH. Following the 3 FHs, trend right and up the arete. More FHs and face moves bring you to a hanging belay R of roof.

  2. 25m (17) Up corner crack for a few meters and then step out L on face to gain arete. Up past 6 FHs to small belay ledge.

  3. 25m (15) Up arete and face moves. 4 FHs to belay ledge.

Descent: 3 raps to ground. A 60m rope just barely gains the ledge on last rap. There is a FH with a mallion at the belay to get back down to the track.

A2+ Luke Sky Hooker

Comfortable belay chasing the shade at bottom of short slab. Boulder to first piton placement, then one or two moves to first bolt. Follow line of bolts and scars 50m up to ledge with tree. 4 people could spaciously bivy sitting up.

Second pitch follows the gully at the moment. Still has some spice, but we are looking to turn the second pitch left at some point for a more aesthetic line. 40m pitch, however does not top out, again to a comfortable stance on a ledge with a tree.

Good fun day out. (took us two to establish)

4 Surfing Boulders

Another scrambly solo, with a mix of bush bashing thrown in there. From the main car park you can see a very distinct pillar on Cooroora. Surfing Boulders climbs the left hand side of this pillar, through a series of gullies and ledges. Descend via the tourist track.
