Ascents in Main Wall

Absolutely soaked. Made for an interesting challenge unable to load feet and route reading through the moss and seepage. Probably ended off route but given conditions will still claim the send.

Shortly after pouring rain first few metres felt close to impossible.

Climb 45 of 50. The start was a bit wet, but the rest was fine. Not a bad little climb. Deserves more traffic.

Climb 40 of 50. Lots of cruxy feeling sections. All the holds are there once you commit, but the bolt spacing makes for a rather sketchy feeling lead at times.

Climb 41 of 50. The climbing itself was enjoyable, but every bolt is a rusty mess, except the anchor bolts (thank goodness). Presumably they used non-stainless bolts. Yikes. Will put up a warning.

Stunning all-round. Both pitches felt solid at the grade and required some deft footwork. P1 perhaps slightly harder which Mark made easy work of.

Belaying at the top, right at the sunset was a bliss.

I genuinely don't understand what's the point of a first carrot 10mt above the ground. Because the climb is absolutely rad but not enough to risk breaking your ankles. In any case, better to rap and put the bolt plates in to avoid that faf going up.

Not sure what the original route was but what I did seemed to flow well. Slightly easier start than MAMD, however, sustained moves till the 5th bolt. From there I moved right as couldn't spot the next carrot and ended up climbing the last bit of MAMD. The start is surely atleast 15 with some lovely technical climbing. Finding the carrots is not my forte and the spacing between them didn't help the case. Still heaps of fun as the rock and the setting are really cool.

Beautiful slabbing in the last of the day's sunshine. Second hanging belay in two days... Some of the bolts are looking a bit worse for wear.

Strong contender for the best crag I've never heard of. They say slabbing is a dying art, but it's alive and well at Tinbeerwah! The crag packs in long sustained routes, stunning views, and somehow an adventure wilderness feel despite the 3 minute walk-in. My only complaint would be the ankle-breaking height of the first bolts, which are often carrots placed 8 to 10 m off the deck above the shaded, grubbiest sections of rock. This route was a bit of an accident - we failed to read the description for Avatar and set off up it's lower section expecting a 13... It's possible to head out right after the 5th bolt to join the 15. I guess this was once a trad or mixed trad route, and the lower section is definitely harder than 13.

Second pitch was stellar. Bit hot at midday tho.

Tinny day finally happened! Will and grace were camping at imbil, marty bell and georgia were done assessment and johnny and i were.. as usual: free. Johnny forgot bolt plates. I forgot 1 shoe. We still somehow salvaged a few climbs apiece. Highlights of the day included johnny asking will if there was rope drag while he was the one leading, georgias grigri escape from the runout finish of MAMD, leaving the noosa carpark with the boot open and realising halfway down the road. Climbing in 2, 1 and 0 shoes at various points in the day was memorable. Oh and of course (thanks to wills crag log - how could i forget) wills round-the-block-to-cross-the-street solution of getting everyones bags out with a heavily weighted rope solo followed by an attemped 6 pig haul. The litter did not cooperate so marty and belle regretably had to use their legs for 45 seconds and walk down to grab said pigs
