Ascents in Central Tablelands as various tick types

This was just as awesome as i thought it would be, with epic moves throughout, but my head game completely fell apart once merging onto On Edge. Bailed off a carrot. Will be back now that I have the gear and sequence beta

First time back after 2 years! It’s still hard lol. Or rather, it’s pretty atypical for Blueys routes in that it is very unbouldery: all the individual sequences are not too bad but linking is a different story. The best parts are before the break but the pumpiest are above.

It’s drier than in 2022 but I still wanted a raincoat for cleaning.

1-draws on, 2-redpoint attempt, 3-attempt but more tired. Crisp condies. Thanks to AE and MM for braving the belay windtunnel.

Hard Crux. Damn!

Very sequency route, with a bouldery crux around bolt 2. This felt very stiff for the grade. I'll come back to it to try again!

Fell in the crux on the OS attempt, then fell above it on the second attempt on the awkward gaston move when I missed the crimp. Whoopsies! Really nice intro climbing, with a series of interesting mantles. Quite a minging little crux and a fun pumpy finish. Will return!

First sesh meet n greet, one hang which is noice. Just some classic Glen boulderyness and lovely rock

Wild little 22, felt so pumped and took some pretty large whips! Will have to come back and try again.

Third attempt, fell after the after the crux (got a bit scare skipping a second draw), still quite few moves to go but possible, the only problem I can give only one attempt per day, it s so exhausting climbing 40 metres to get to the end.

I found this harder on onsight, compared to similarly graded routes on the other side of the valley. It felt a step up but was brilliant climbing with sustained, techy, reachy moves along varied terrain. It's a good winter multi as the wall is bathed in sunshine from first light.

I led P1 and P4. I needed a couple of takes on each to find a sequence that worked. We finished up by linking P2 and P3 of Fat Yak (rather than linking into the top pitches of Beggar's banquet as the link up intends, we were too pumped!).

Also, the access road is now complete so the warning is no longer applicable.

Tried my heart out for the flash and dropped it on the last move. Sadly the fall near the roof spooked me from then on. Cool moves though

Couldn’t stick the crux. The peanut is sharp and so bad, didn’t manage to crank it hard enough to raise feet and go for the landing hold. But bumping from it to the pinch feels reachy for me, didn’t have the tension. But tickled the pinch enough to know it would be good (dammit!) Will grow some skin and come back

Another awesome day on this awesome climb, couldn't keep it together for the crux but also realised my beta for the crux isn't the most efficient, after watching Gabriele and Nodav I decided to try something different and it felt a lot better even when I was tired. Maybe next time

Seconded up after some Lord. Need more endurance! Killer route absolutely loved it
