Ascents in North Apostles

I don't know if I was at this climb!

this climb is great - underrated fursure! great first send to understand the quality of rock on offer! depending on how much of an 18 you want, lap up the handjams for a little longer before stepping onto the face. (call out to all punters: there is a sick looking direct line from the ground going up to the right of the bolts. with arete and associated jugs off, looks like it would go! grade? who knows? 1000? what are grades?)

they look like finger locks from the ground but they are really just sideways jugs. but impress your friends! over before you know it!

this is some of the best quality sandstone I have ever laid my mitts on - and it's just out in the middle of nowhere. the description is not taking the piss - certainly jump on it. go direct the whole way-yes that means up the smaller corner after the ledge to clip the last bolt. (i think i bailed to the left and up the jug fest on less nice rock and made for a dicier run out all up. i regret it. don't be like me.)

this thing is great, but the crux below the first bolt/clipping the first bolt is a bit terrifying. sand is nature's crash pad right?

Loved the little traverse!

Excellent climb with a hard clean face with small finger pockets for the first half. Satisfying to finish.

Most NT climbs are slightly sand bagged, this might be slightly the other way. Still a hard lower section, great climb to top. Bring bolt plates for the top, or lower off chain on other side on top.

Finally got rid of an old dog. Had a few shots at this over the last 2 years. Gave it one shot on top-rope and then sent it next shot. Stellar line up some of the best rock in the area.

Always good fun to do a lap.

Cleaning up an old dog. Took a few shots to stick the crux which is way hard for a 22.

FFA. Bolted this when we came back from the USA in 2013. Perfect super compact sandstone with a wicked crux. Sent on my second shot today. Maybe 25, needs more repeats.

Bolted this on the saturday and gave it a burn on Sunday. The start that I bolted turned out near impossible, so I moved the first bolt and added another. Working it in disgusting hot/humid conditions. Most of the moves worked out. Crux is above the horizontal break.

Short climb but has some nice technical moves.

Got it clean. Really nice climbing up some great rock.

Slipped on the sandy rock at the start and messed up the onsight. Finished the climb, pulled the rope and led it clean again. Crux felt around the 2-3 bolt.

Weighted the rope a couple of times on the first few moves. Once I got it sussed it was easy up from there. Good fun.

Climbed this as a warm up and to get up to set up a top-rope on the back. This is way over graded, I believe it should be a 16. Still a few nice moves at the start.

Once over the bulge its just easy climbing on jugs.
