Ascents in Babylon Areas

Better on lead.

Fun climbing on good holds, less sketchy on the runnouts than K.

I'm too much of a whimp to enjoy those runnouts.

2 laps. 2nd was a good burn, but I'm totally struggling with a seeping (crucial) pocket, which got wetter throughout the day. Cruised the slab (23?) both laps, and got the rest of the climb (including the funky crux near the top) dialled. Good linkage too. This is ALMOST a megaclassic, but the uninspiring rock on the slab (which features great slab climbing) robs this of being possibly the best route in Nowra. The upper porcelain-white wall is stunning, and features amazing and varied move through sustained pumpy steepness on perfect rock (aside from the seeping pocket). The moves into the initial steepness (off the slab) are committing, as its a hard, long sequence, and I can't clip the next bolt until its below me! I will definitely be back!

Could be really good... provided you spend a day attacking this thing with herbicide, secateurs, weed removers and a Gerni... Aaand while you're at it, move the 3rd bolt so it doesn't position the rope, draw and climber right over a cubic metre death block. The lower half of this climb is COMPLETELY overrun with thick vegetation and mud in the crucial horizontals. The upper half is okay. Big moves between pretty good holds, and outrageously steep on nice rock... Just totally reclaimed by nature.

P1 Only. Seconding Carlos to get to the access ledge. Some okay (and rather tough) slab moves, but terrible rock and quite wet in places. Just climb the rungs to get to the ledge instead.

Still mega, down to one rest. Would like to get back on this soon. I don't want to have relearn the tricky sequence above the scoops.

A crazy technical crux move for a 22! Satisfying tick. Fell after crux on onsight attempt.

Classic video game style climbing. You could imagine someone going crazy on a Nintendo controller trying to get you to the top! 3rd shot

Still as good as ever. Amazing line, a definite classic for steep 24 climbing. I still like the hustler more though...

Had to try it. It's a one crappy move wonder. Save your energy for the other 22's around the area.

My favourite line on this wall. Very nice climbing.

This is the hardest line on the slabs wall. Sandbagged at 14, somewhere between 16-18.
