Ascents of Happy Go Lucky

Tried this a few years ago and battled at the 2nd bolt as everyone does, however today with a fresh set of eyes and some different beta it went easily and the only battle was with the pump from halfway. Probably my favourite pitch on this wall

When it says “route finding abilities”, it’s actually saying you should just find another route. Just because it’s the most accessible of the routes, doesn’t mean it’s any good. The Omen also felt easier

Fell at second bolt going wrong way. Lowered back down and started again.

Hard start to a 23. Has some technicality to it.

Solid at the grade surley

Had to fight for this one. Went slightly to the right at second bolt and pulled hard on some sub optimal crimps and made it through. Rest of the route is excellent

Very hard for 23 between the 2nd and 3rd bolt, especially in high humidity

Hard and reachy but the spooge was bad on this.

Very spoogy. 30 deg temps are probably not the best conditions.

Would be better if the start was at the grade. Felt like a 24 move.

Really hard. Bouldery and reachy, but at least well bolted, and with the bolts being right where you'd want them. Seemed to be mostly a matter of hauling up to a bolt on good holds, clipping, then working through a hard, bouldery sequence past the bolt to the next decent holds, and repeating that 10 more times.

Nails move down low on some very poor crimps.

Link into the top of walk the plank for better value!

come off at the crux at second bolt and also on the slopers a bit higher. 34 deg temps didn't help. Great climbing.

Hard. Spoogy

EOD recon mission in the evening spooge.

Got the moves sorted at the 2nd bolt. Right undercling, to left sidepull - then right crimp and bump right again.

Need to be fresh for this one.

pfffttt.. total sandbagged. Not a 23 I reckon.

Confusing 2nd bolt placement. Sharp crimps with no skin didnt leave the best impression on me. Found this hard.

You never like the ones you fall off. I didn't like this. Confusing down low thanks to bolt placements, and otherwise sharp and hard! [2]

Slopey and was very greasy when I got on this. Didnt really enjoy it, but was a high gravity day all up for me.

A bit too crimpy for me right now... Pulled up on one move.

Thin hard start.

Great route with a tricky crux down low and it keeps coming at you to the anchors.

Hard to get 2nd draw on, but wouldve fallen off anyway. Felt more 24ish
