Ascents in Scenic Rim as Roped Solo

Well, that was unexpected. 🤷‍♂️

Having barely climbed in Europe was aiming just to reacquaint with gear and beta with the hope of a decent link. Ended up accidentally sending it on top rope solo.

Missed the chance for a lead but enjoyed a couple of clean laps.

Haven't been on EF in a hot minute but immediately noticed the big block sitting precariously right side (climber's right) in crack at the top. How long has that been sitting there? Looks like it's fallen out from the back of the crack and resting on not much, made for quite uneasy climbing. Thought to trundle with no one else climbing this arvo but not best practice without spotters. On a popular route such as EF it could be very dangerous to be left as is, don't think I'm exaggerating the risk either.

Have you ever heard bats hunting at Frog- the sound of their outstretched wings through the air like that of a loosely tied down tarp going 100kms down the highway.

Going to the dogs, x3 arvo laps. Beams of light and rain moving together across the valley remind me of a Miyazaki film.

Three dog laps playing around with gear and moves, I'll be half decent at lackbacking by the end of this jaja.

Linked everything both trys just one fall both trys after the rail going for tiny crimps

Unreal jam session up top, so worth it. Wanted a second lap, this time starting with the offwidth. Felt like I battled up it for ten minutes before looking down to see I was barely off the ground. Gave up on that and went back to the corner start.

An all time coolest climb. Such an amazing and fun route

Finally got all the moves pretty dialled out worked out good beta after the dead point move hopefully it stays cool enough

Had two laps Just need to make some links n remember the beta

Three shots of the good stuff. No.2 traversed over from big ledge at halfway to other side for a change of scenery, unroped and climbed a short handcrack and then chockstone hopped up and out the other side. The perspective change revealed a sweet looking diagonal crack that rises up from the other side to the Macraderma entrance.

Had 3 goes Rough on the tips But have all the moves with a few sits just need to link everything

X5 clean laps and saw my first bat!

Couple of laps, couple of sits working out some gear, good times and painful toes

Filthy down there this arvo, needs a good vacuum.

An experience

Had a few burns on top rope solo after red point attempt Worked out sonñme better gear beta for lower crux and a knee jam But was too pooped to even link the whole route clean

theres no way people lead this and pull the rope

Quite nice, not too hard

Worst attempt yet Can't get on this in the sun crimps were brutal

Enjoyable and committing layback moves, two sits before second lb working the moves and better rope setup.

Saw my first and second frog bandicoots tonight, lil cuties, sniffing around my bag looking for a cliff bar, didn't seem fazed by me. Someone needs to do up an animal bingo for frog:)

Got the crux pretty dialled in now Still struggle doing the moves above the crux on the tiny crimps and then I find the top really hard need to spend more time finding good beta for the top
