Can get through the crux without much drama now First brunt I wasted abit of energy at the end of the traverse placing my heel hook where my hand needed to go And 2nd Burn I was too zoned in and went for the slot forgetting to grab the pinch block

Clean until the 4th bolt until I realised I wasn’t on the 17 I intended to climb for my warmup…had to stick clip the last few bolts as it was insanely hard on the upper half!

Nails hard going right at second. Can't get the feet high enough to support the sloping rail at third. Might have to try chimney next time. Big powerful last move. If only I was a little more flexible.

Came out of the cave nice and smooth and in control. Then flopped around like a fish out of water at the fourth. Wasted too much energy and pumped myself out. Got the 4th clipped and powered on up. I went wrong hand up first to sidepull below jugs for clipping the 5th. Too pumped and matching there did not seem to work. I went different feed as where the rope runs on lead covers my foot placement. Took the spill

Managed to get into position for rotating out onto the face with the little bits of beta I remembered. Left in the mono and right in the low two finger pocket (probe) and shoulder/arm across the dent in cobra. The rotation went clean but crushed my ulnar nerve with pain in right ring finger. This placed me too low and I forgot about the left jug and was just thinking kneebar to stop the pain. Too low. Take.

With the finger still numb I gave the probe a miss and used the higher pocket while not as nice it is kinder on the finger and allows for easier transition to palming the back of the cave. This is were Dad and my beta differ. This allows for a comfortable transition to the face. I think this time I forgot to bump pockets for easier gain of the ledge.

Powered through the save and onto face. Gain the ledger and come unstuck just below 5th bolt. I could hold on but not get feet to release any hand to move to jug. This prompted me to work from the ledge pocket up to chains several times. Using layback method as it allows for better use of the feet and allows for moving straight into the jug.

Got to 4th bolt ok..clipped draw in with heel hook on runnel ledge but couldn't pull rope through ...phenomenal drag..maybe need 600 sling on 2nd...spectacular downside up fall...bailed off 4th..light rain

Had probably 10+ attempts. Closest attempt was sticking the clipping hold for the anchors but slipping out of it before I could clip the chains. Awesome climb, until next time.

Super fun, burly but rather hard for a 22. Technical for sure, the biggest issue I had was figuring out how to hell to untangle myself from my own rope after clipping in.
