Ascents in Lost World having Beta

Finally! 11 attempts over 4 sessions. Battered both my body and mind. Thanks Drew Ivison for the belays and encouragement. Undercling and karate kick your way across the roof, around the bulge and onto the thin arete before nervously making your way up mostly jugs to the anchors. Grade needs confirmation by the second ascentist...

Made it past the crux for the redpoint but forgot draws for the finish...

Damo finally got me on this. Better than it looks! Will be back to continue working it. x2 Dog Laps

Super stoked to get the second ascent on this classic line. The first two boulder problems were insanely fun. Around 7 sessions working this beast. I think 28/29 seems about right, but needs some absolute crushers to confirm it

Hard 27 soft 28 , one tricky move

Definitely worth the extra star! Fell into the void about a move away from the 2nd draw above lip. Will have to work that a bit. Get on it! Bit of seepage at the back in some of the holds between 2 clips above the lip but it's possible not to use them.

Managed to work through the crux on the headwall. Ace! Will be a real pumper on link!

Best line at the crag, the movement on the headwall is incredible. Extra spicey bolting flavour to keep it interesting 👌

Nails. Thin as a paper cut! Couldn't figure out the bulge crux and then gave up trying to top it out.

Crux foothold is Choss. Has been glued but keeps crumbling away. Such a shame as it climbs really nicely.

Excellent. 3 short and very different boulder problems stacked on top of each other. I think Josh is right on the money @ 25.

Good fun. I crumbled more of that glued foothold at the crux, but found some beta that still goes at 26ish. The top needs some serious cleaning, however.

Not clean needs to be cooler than 32 degrees and less humid I guess. One hard move and its all over.

A little confused with the topo, the line shown here follows a line of bolts so it's definitely sport (though i'd sure you could protect most of it in those cracks). Also was the name changed my printed topo from >12 months ago calls it smoke the grass which i can't see here anymore?

Good to actually do most of the moves and a good project to work on.

A couple low falls then managed to get through the first roof for the first time on the sharp end, thanks to Tom's beta.

Following Tom, took my time on the rests and managed to keep it together. No trad grear required with those shiny rings

Hard start to fun corner, couldn't figure all the moves or clips this time round but have a few ideas. The top half was awesome and possible despite the left wall and clipping jug running with water. Another new project!

Consistent 24 climbing on slopers and heels

Slopers and heel hook heaven. You won't need your belay glasses for this one. However, you will need a good belayer, preferably one heavier than you as you'll get pretty close to the ground if you fall on the first three clips.

Checking this out at the end of the day..... Start went fairly easily but... Through the scoop how?? I must be missing something.

Needed a good scrubbing in all the cracks at the top.

Classic climbing on some average sandy holds. It all goes okay once the layers of dirt are removed. Great fun though!

Still felt hard. If you left something in the cave let me know and I'll get it back to you.

Hard 24 or easier 25.. Surprisingly good holds when you need them. The top crimp crux is a bit spicy. Sent second shot.

Really good line! Description might need an update, there are fresh bolts all the way. Will come back for proper send.

Extremely hard for the grade?! I think I’m a long way off the send which is surprising for a 23. Can tell that it’s a classic and deserves more assents though!

Very good. No harder than the route next to it, which is a hard 22.

Doesn’t seem to get ma y if any repeats?? Buts its just as good as the others on this wall if not better as it has no enhancements

Awesome little gem. Slab is worthy in it's own right, and the change of gear for the end is awesome (but hard at the top).

So lovely to check out a new crag. Please go there! It needs traffic to clean up the routes. This climb was crazy tough for the grade unless I was really missing some beta.
