Ascents of Dobster's Diabolical Dihedral

Took my first Trad whip in a long time from a foot slip on the layback up the top. Blaming new shoes. Had a light bounce of the ledge below. Thrilling. Great climb. #7 is good for top

Really fun trenching in some parts

LRS. First attempt was working out the offwidth, removing a few layers of skin. Then came back to it and led it clean. Fun route enjoyed it.

Pink point with my first fall on a cam I added. It is pretty fun

Amazingly fun hand and foot jamming in the first half, but man, that second half sucks if you're too tall to use the feet

Yeah fun; good yams. Decent warm up on top rope, reckon the top would be a lil scary on lead.

Trad is weird! Roof thing hard

Very cool! Getting to a good stance after the roof felt a little desperate, but made it just fine.

Two short episodes of grunting and thrutching interspersed by a ledge - bring it on! Need a #5 to make the top safe.

finally got to finish this thing but held a cam to clip near the top, so lol we will meet again, but I'm happy about it, I really like this climb. #4 and #5 is a good idea if you don't want to clip any bolts and aren't made of steel.

did the v smoothly this time but it started raining and the layback was very slippery so lol, we will meet again

Not sure what we learnt today... never go full frog? Stay out of the squeeze? Wear long pants? Managed to eke some hilarious struggle out of this here

v fun good way to warm up. turned out to be a great day, we left with 3 hours of sunlight left due to some splits tips and dehydration, ill definitely be back for another slap

Summoned the inner Pamela Shanti Pack for this one. Good hand and foot jams lead to an awkward chimney move. Stitched up the initial section needlessly, had four cams within a meter (inner Pamela scoffing).

Placed a #3 at the top section, deep breath, commit, layback, 'shit where did the footer go' moment, glory at the anchor (Yes its a single bolt, bomber).

Single rack small to medium size cams for initial dihedral section, #3 and/or #4 would be handy for the top section.

One hang just before the thrutch. Gets squishy in there.

Second time climbing this but first time leading. Super fun but slimey on the chockstone after first crack.

Soft for 18. lovely initial crack that ended too soon. top layback was quite wide and commited. protected with a #2 down low, but it was a ledge fall and could have used a 5 above.

Warm up. It was a bit slimey. Double bolt belay at top.

A real battle, with some good belly jams!

exiting the first v crack is interesting and a real battle the upper crack is easier but a bit sandy and therefore sphincter contraction inducing!
