Fantastic adventure and perfect weather. One of those days in the mountains that you never want to end!
Beta if you want it: 9h C2C, up via Hansens and back via Marion’s/Dove Lake. It took us 2h 10min to the top of Little Horn, 4h 40min to top of Weindorfer’s, and then 6h 50min to the summit of Cradle. We carried a light rack in case we wanted to rope up, but didn’t use it (glad to have the option though). Abseiled the full ~23m from Weindorfer’s towers, you’d have to be pretty bold to solo down below the tat. Hardest scrambling was the down-climbing from Little Horn, and a few exposed sections up Weindorfer’s. Once you reach Smithie’s there are lots more options for which route you want to take through the talus; we went up most the straightforward pinnacles and bypassed a few steep ones. Definitely recommend!!! |
