Ascents in British Columbia having Beta

Linking both pitches is really rough at the top, came off pulling over the lip. I'd recommend doing it as 2 or just bring a lot of extenders and be relatively sparing with gear.

Linkup Broomstick Crack --> Squamish Buttress

Didn't know the route, so started on the crack rather than the face, which likely made it easier than 10c.

Great climb

Hardd but sick! Cool up into the undercling, and to the rail. Skipped the crux through the slopey nothing crimps. Tricky small holds over the bludge

Such incredible rock features: smooth horizontal scoops carved out. Super beautiful. Felt so hard first go, so was not expecting a send. Quite big dynamic moves. Worked out the start with better direct beta, then quickly got sooo pumped, and really had to work for it. I didn’t fall which was epic! Stick clipped the 2nd draw.

There may now be an extra bolt after the midstation, i don’t remember it there last year which makes the first few moves of the 5.10a less committing.

Second try. Gross traverse on shit holds at the start. Cool roof knee bar and sequence through the R side pulls.

Fantastic route in perfect Skaha style. Seems there is 2 ways to do the crux, a dyno from the left, or thin technical climbing from the right.

Fun stemming in the lower corner to thin edges above.

Odd, ledgey arete with poor bolting.

A really fun sequence though the roof, then eases above.

Finger crack training! Sinker locks, but insecure feet. Small gear, but bomber! Mildly gripping

Looked innocuous enough, but climbed like a bitch. Cool laybacking, into an awesome lil kneebar! Didn’t go all the way to the top, traversed R out to ‘made from fire’ chains so we could toppie it!

So hard!! Beautiful, felt like freycinet granite! Gnarly finger locks and jams. Flailed

Gets 4 stars in the book! Nice crack, some offwidth thutch, and a cool little traverse out to the anchors

Written as 11a on the wall. Agree that it deserves this grade. Very fun climb 😊
