I used an alternative beta as mentioned by someone earlier. Climb the drawline, staying mostly right, until the spot where there's two hangers side by side. Clip the left one and then keep left for the rest of the climb. This variation keeps it nearly pure slab the whole pitch, making it a fun balancey romp up small hands and feet. Much more fun than the reachy arete variation by staying right. Still 5.8, and a hard 5.8 imo.

We found some wasps/hornets having a feast on ladybugs at what would have been a really nice hold. Lots of side-pulls, and everyone that climbed it in our group had a foot slip at the same point. Really fun climb though! |

My attempt at contriving the hardest problem here. Probably one of the better problems. Big moves/cut feet/tension problem. I was hoping it would be harder though..!

dry where it needs to be dry. don't need to get muddy if you don't want to. much better to start at holy trinity if you want a harder than 5.0 opening pitch, so did it again from there.

Felt much better than last time I tried it 2 years ago. Got it first go. It all felt great until I got to the last jug with my right hand and hung there for about 30 seconds trying to figure out how to match it...

I may be getting older, but this felt harder than a 5.9... I wasn't able to pull the second roof. There are some bolts to the right which allows you to cheat the crux.
We had a great weather(May 2024 long weekend) and our kids & their friends top roped the route.
