Ascents in Central Ontario

Very nice dihedral-ish climbing

Awesome slab climbing. Some of the moves were really tricky to find, but felt great when I did!

Was previously shown as 5.10c, I looked at it, and it didn't look too bad. So, I attempted it, expecting to take a few falls, maybe have to haul on a draw. To my surprise, I on-sighted it. Mostly because it isn't 5.10c. Might be hard 10a, might be soft 10b, hard to tell where in that range. (Spine of the Dragon, 10a, is a very different style, but I'd say harder.)

Only 7 bolts, not 8 as described here. I need to update that.

Hard, and run-out in places, making it scary at times to go with the hard.

Start on an easy 7.7. Go for the traverse with a very nice move before reaching the anchor to the 2nd pitch. The third pitch is the crux with a reachy move with your left hand, then go to a slaby section to reach some good holds. The belay station of the third pitch is on a plato. After you climb pitch #4 you will have to cross a forest, around 70m walk to the left (bring hiking shoes). Last pitch is fun. All belay stations with bolts. Route very well protected.

Moderate route that was a blast to climb. Each pitch felt very different and the protection is extensive to minimize stress and maximize fun.

For others who don't want to spend an embarrassing amount of time walking around the base of the cliff trying to find it:

-There is orange marking tape all the way up to the base (like a lot, not just a few pieces) and an inukshuk along the road.

-If you see multiple inukshuks up near the cliff base in a wide open area you need to go left past the giant black overhang likely dripping water down on you.

-If you reach a private drive way on the river side of the road with a wooden sign that reads: "No Parking Please" you've gone too far.

This climb feels like an adventure! Tons of cool features and varied climbing. Extended draws recommended to deal with the wandering bolt line.

Great intro to climbing 10s on gear. Crux is protected by the first bolt. Great gear with good holds in strenuous positions.
