First 5 pitches are pretty sweet, mostly gully climbing without too much exposure. Decent cracks and chimneys. But pitch 6 is fucked! The bolt "ladder" is heinous (ladder for giants! It's pretty much a bolted climb) and the following hand crack is slimey and shallow! I started as the sun set and ran out of gear, retreated for the night leaving two cams on the wall (no one leaves cams behind!! ever!!). Fortunately Jeff and I combined racks the next day, finished this thing and got my gear back

Freed up to the .10d pitches. The .11a arete is rubbish and out of character for the cool lay backing and strenuous corneriness on the rest of the climb.

Awesome climbing! Much better than Millennium Falcon. The best moderate route to scale the West Face of the Chief I've climbed yet!

Only climbed to Bellygood, but led everything except the two 5.8 pitches above the 11a. Linked the next two 10d pitches together, would be much better with roller draws, and if the corner crack wasn't dripping!

Led for the redpoint P1 and P3. Now I just need to go and lead P2, the roof pitch, the boulder .10d pitch and the traverse/chimney pitch for the complete redpoint.

Very dirty, overgrown, tons of loose rocks and bugs. Felt like a bushwhack.

P1: climbing tons of loose, sketchy feeling flakes to get to a bushwhack through bushes and spiderwebs P2: really fun hand crack leads to more loose flakes/blocks and an overhang P3: "finger crack" with a fun tree belay P4: Are we climbing trees or rocks? eat some bugs in the gully but get up to a super fun ledge P5: step like movements P6: 10c bypass - first part is pretty easy to aid with really close bolts P7: careful of your jacket in these series of chimneys

Damn that second pitch is cool, but couldn't pull the moves in the sting in the tail. V. Spicy finish with ledge feature, can optionally head left to avoid

Stunning line, longer then it looks at about 33m. Upper half brings the crux as a he finger locks get less secure

Holy smokes that 40m second pitch is mind blowing, it just keeps on going. Super fun twin parallel finger cracks lead rightwards to a short thin vertical finger crack, into an insane finger-locking good crack all the wall up a sustained left leaning dihedral. Take lots of small cams, and small/med wires, and a double rack up to BD2's, there's a couple of wider sections of crack up high before it fully thins out into the top crux before you have to run it up to the anchors. Happy to have sent this second shot, after having done it on second a couple of month prior.

Pitches 11 and 12 as part of Stairway to Heaven. Alice led runout p11, I led p12. Slightly tricky getting off belay, then mostly a ramble to the upper crux roof. Crux is moving to the roof, not turning it. Well protected cruxes.

Probably should've warmed up. Super rad finger-locking up an aesthetic line.

Got too bricked to place gear in the crux, so hit the gas and got lucky and made it to the chains.
